i work at a cdjr dealer and there a bulletin on trucks that we would add capacitors in the asd wiring on the injector side and the the capacitors bolted to the head for rfi setting codes. i don't know if that would help on your build i know its not stock wiring or pcm.
my coil wires have caps on each bank. they are not fastened down just dangling. i asked if they needed to connected to anything but nobody seemed to understand whar i was talking about. can be seen inaide the yellow circle behind the plug wires.

I’m not trying to be a jerk, but that’s a disaster. Get some stock valve covers and put the coils back up on top. Eliminate those wires and you’ll reduce the rfi under there 100fold... The COP stuff eliminates the long wire and the majority of the issues associated with them. My are CNP and I kept the wires as short as possible and away from all the injector and coil wiring. No random issues here.

im working on it. wiring is done. have to put the charge piping back in and mount the ecu back on the dash. a few tiny odds an ends. have a plan of attack for the coil wiring ordeal.
car will back up an running tomorrow afternoon cuz i got crap to do in the morning. was gonna fire it up tonight but non of my neighbors would like me after the fact.lol

Yeah I try not to do that too early or too late. A twin turbo anything isn’t exactly quiet lol

lolright,

all rewired...no start now. **** my life.
got fuel and injectors and crank signal....no ignition. might have been a sign ive needed all along.

the little things... one sensor...pigtail....out of all the black pigtails coming through the firewall. i cant find the map sensor one. it literally hid and slid down the trans bell housing out of sight. i hunted and flashlighted everywhere. finally after removing the entire harness...again to check for it(i confirmed it before installing mind you with a notebook checklist) i find it. repin it for to the different sensor pigtail. low an behold...it runs again.
tired, finish it tomorrow during fire works time frame.

well its back together now but lost my ecu fastner bolts. cant find but 1 outta the 3 remaining not messed up. 4th is just gonna have to f itself off.lol

i am unable to get the hood on by myself. so how the f do i get the hood props/hinges to go down? dr side is broken and just falls down. pass side my 300lb *** struggles to compress it but just pops rigbt back up. how do i get it to stay down? do i just pop the spring off the hinge?

tomorrow is tnt night. kinda need it down asap. nobody around to help me get the hood back on. grrr

well same **** different day. ran a 6.34@110mph still losing sync at 4800-5000rpms every time.
no i have not moved the coils or wires on them yet. im a 1 thing at a time kinda guy. so if it ever comes back. i can verify immediately what it could or might be down the road. i will now be redoing the coil wire setup. see what happens next week u less i gef time saturday and can tnt same day. we will see.

Are you running the right crank sensor? Not sure what harness you have but found this. https://sdparts.com/pdf/359387

I know some LS engines have crank sensor issues as well. Might pay to go external wheel/sensor or key the damper and buy a cheap MSD flying magnet setup.

its the right sensor. i never lose signal but the frequency distorts on the system log. which tells me interference is pulling on the signal as rpm increases. as its a 4800-5000rpm(most common rpms) and above error.
im about to cap off half the plugs and try that. if its rmi this should cure it with the quickness. as 4 plug wires vs 8 per side. this should make a massive difference in that. as it cuts half of the electrical energy radiating per side. also hunting for local stock valve covers to mount in stock locstion as well.

I’m no rocket scientist, but it doesn’t work like that lol. You should probably move all the coils.

well idk wtf is causing it but im about to eliminate half the plug wires tomorrow. eveeythinf as fsr away as can be. if it dont work. maybe its mechanical with the cam timing cage..**** idk and reachinf dor invisible straws at this point.

Eliminating eight won’t do when there’s still eight more there. Move the ******* coils.

bawhaha.. im trying to locate some ******* stock valve covers. then i will. cutting out half gives me a clearer idea if it is the issue.
remember i have made clean passes with all this **** still where it is. several respectable tuners do NOT believe it to be the issue.

So what do the “experts” say it is?

its a coin flip. 1 does and 1 doesnt. i personally think its mechanical design.
me personally i think its the cam timing tensioner bouncing causing cam timing swing by 30°+. as ive already seen this in my system logs. ive not quite figured out how its controllable or fixable.

Does it have a VVT delete? I see moving the coils as an easy way to rule that in or rule that out. Then you could move on to chasing other things. Good luck.

agreed, even if they were just temporarily hung somewhere else to test the theory. it'll only cost time and a few zip ties to see.
neil.

Racing Friday night and Saturday at Havana.... let’s go!
i am trying to make that but my gmah is expected to pass any moment now. shes in peoria so im coming to central illinois one way or another now. not sure ill make it if i cant test my turd first here. still need to install the new hc coils i have. see if i have a bad one emitting rmf.

made a hit on a mexican street, removed half the plug wired. only a tiny pop but still there. so i think im onto something here. bad coil causing the high frequency interference. hope i can get them swapped this evening and go made a hit again in mexico.
just a 1st round duck if i do show.
