Best weapon for Concealed Carry advise

All good points.
I'm a big advocate of US Law Shield. Inexpensive to join, but if you get involved in any self defense situation, fists, knife or gun...one call gets you a lawyer on retainer...Best investment.

Training is good. I love my assortment of handguns. I collect them. But a good friend, a retired cop and eventual firearms instructor in a large city in NJ says...
Train and use ONE type of gun, muscle memory will save your life. It is true, makes total sense.
I wish I had room for as many Mopars as I have handguns.

Cost is most often directly proportional to quality, and quality is directly proportional to reliability, and reliability has a directly proportional relationship with survivability in a gunfight.

Besides, smaller, more compact weapons cost more to manufacture and it just so happens that smaller, more compact weapons are better for every day carry.

A person doesn't need a Rolex, but I wouldn't use the watch that came in my Froot Loops this morning to coordinate a mission to the moon, either. That's what Speedmasters are for.

I want to replace that $750 at a later date, rather than have the option removed for me.

That's why I bought AMERICAN in a North American Arms firearm. Quality products at reasonable prices.

I was watching one of the crime dramas based on true stories. The part I remember is about two thugs, one a gang leader and the other his right hand man. The right hand man was a massive dude, lots of muscle and mass. They got into a disagreement and the leader shot the guy five times in the chest with a .357 revolver point blank. What truly amazed me was none of the slugs exited. Yes he died.

The .357 Magnum is one shag nasty round. It flat gets the job DONE.

While I don't know anything about that model I will say my sister has a KelTec 22lr that jams on every ammo.

Yeah, much like Taurus, Keltec under went some major changes and now makes a pretty nice firearm. They used to be the go to for a throw down gun.

The Walther P22 has the same issue. The tip of an unjacketed 22 hits the top of the barrel as the feed ramp is super steep pushing the tip up. Darn thing will only be nice when shooting copper jacket 22... no way, would I carry it CCW.

S'why I like revolvers. With a semi, you never know.

I agree but a revolver can lose time or break a spring, too. And capacity can be a factor, too. Surely I'm not the only one that carries arms depending on the days' planned activities? Going to the hood? 17rd 9mm. Going to the grocery store? LCP or LCR. Just depends...

The most important part? Follow the ABC's. Always Be Carrying.

I usually carry the Rossi .357 Mag when we go to Macon....all of Macon is the hood now.

The best advise for CCW carriers is to not put yourself in a situation, stay out of " The Hood ".
Be aware of your surroundings and be alert.
If someone's out to kill you your already dead.

Watch out for pissed off dogs in Cadillac Escalades sitting in Menards parking lots, when the owner has left the car running so doggie has some AC.
When doggie starts going BERSERK because you had the balls to park next to said Escalade, and he runs to front seat and steps on the power window switch, which lowers the window, you might need your cc weapon to defend yourself on the off chance he jumps out the window.

Y'know... theoretically speaking.

First of all I would like to give a Good Guy Shout out to "Sublime One" for all the advise and expertise he conveyed to me. Next I would like to thank each of you for posting and helping me with my decision. Long Story short at this time I'm a little uncomfortable with the idea of Concealed Carry because I'm slow and clumsy. I will continue to get instruction and range time to see what the end result will be. Thanks again.

Maybe he is overthinking it. Who cares about money, lawsuits, being an oaf, etc when you are unarmed and at the mercy of evil.
But I live in the most dangerous city in the nation, so maybe my thinking it skewed.

this is a screen grab from a church shooting a few years ago

the guy on the far right is the bad guy
the guy in the yellow circle is victim #1

he got shot without warning

the guy in the red circle is victim #2
that is who i am thinking @Back in Time is worried about becoming

you can see in the picture he is reacting to the thread, reaching for his own gun and at that very moment, he becomes a target
(now i know, you never draw on a drawn gun, but i dont think he had much of a choice)

fact of the matter is, he tried to reach his EDC and ended up dying because of it

so there is a concern there...one that can only be met with rigorous training
