Took Kitty to The Cracker Barrel today. She likes it, so we go every once in a while when we can. Get this.......The devil has come to The Cracker Barrel. They're serving beer and wine! Who'da thunk it? ...and no, I had a coke. lol

So.... The devil went down to Georgia? Sorry couldn't resist.

Me & my buddy cleaned 4 or 5 of the western cracker barrel a back in the mid 2000s. If that makes you feel better about eating there lol.
By the way I got called cracker by a black girl working taco bell when I was a teenager, I'll never forget it....I just laughed (no spit in the food I checked)

They're selling Mimosa's at the Cracker Barrel up the street.
Been doing it for a few months now.
I sat there the other night listening to some old lady throw a fit about it to the poor manager.
Said it was unchristian and they should be ashamed.
My wife wouldn't let me send one over to her table.
That would'a been a hoot.

Un-Christian? How?
Now that’s just wacked!
if it is alcoholic, i can see that being labelled as "un-christian"
i know its not a popular teaching nowadays, but you cant read your Bible and not see the destructive character of alcohol

Jesus turned the water into wine. He did it because he wanted to cheer everyone up to have a good time as they were dreadfully depressed. He could have simply made the water good. He didn't. He made wine. The Bible talks about the evils of alcohol, but it says "not to excess" or some such. It doesn't say Christians cannot drink.

But maybe a discussion for another time on another thread not in the general forum.

1 book describes it the same as witchcraft, can't recall though which 1 must've been elder testament. For me the spirits were evil

What church?
I don't know of any old testament churches, I read it in the old testament which in my opinion doesn't matter much except for a few things. Also I've never been to church when they actually serve wine, its grape juice & is only symbolic as the blood of christ.

He sure did...but what is wine?
are you familiar with a product called "welch's grape juice"?

of course you are
but are you also familiar with the fact that prior to 1900 they didnt market it as "grape juice" but as "unfermented wine"

sometimes what we read in English isnt exactly what God meant in the original language

it is my believe that "unfermented wine" is what Jesus turned that water into at the wedding at Canaan
(i wont go to far into the spiritual meaning of fermentation in the Bible, because, like you said, this is not the place for this conversation, so let me leave it at this...)

No, the Bible doesnt tell Christians not to drink, Proverbs 23:31 tells us not to LOOK at drink

now, having said ALL that...i have been to several churches, both Catholic and Baptist where they did use alcoholic wine for communion
but where i am in my spiritual life right now, i dont think i would partake of that

Define excess please.

From the context, it's pretty clear is was alcohol. People were sad and dark, then they were happy and rejoicing. It's pretty clear.

...but like I said, let's stop the religious banter. This thread will get locked, moved or deleted. That's not what we want.

I've never taken offense to any names that would be considered "racist" towards white folk. It's just words.
