Cold case 756a fitment

-
I don't knock the cooling quality. It's there. I can only speak from the experience that I've had first hand. And that's none of the radiators we used from them fit. We had to make modifications for all of them. For the price, they should bolt it. When something is advertised "direct fit" it should be direct fit. I know Matt will not be buying one again.

...and the guy here has still not answered where they're made after being asked directly. We know where they're made. That part is no big deal. It's the fact a vendor here won't at least answer a simple question. That's not somebody I'll do business with. Too bad for them, because Matt has the rest of 2021 and all of 2022 filled with restoration work. His average restoration is around 100-150K so he's not small potatoes. Oh well.

I was unaware the radiator fit on the firewall.

That said, and I'm not trying to bash here, just telling it like I've seen it, the Cold Case radiators seem good quality. However, I've installed at least five over the past about two years working off and on for my friend Matt and not the first one was "direct fit" as advertised. We had to move brackets around and or re-drill holes on every single one.

here you go , experiance !^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Almost everything is made there, you could buy a the $1,000. radiator that's made here, but he didn't. C Case fit my '69 Dart just fine with no issues. I don't even run a shroud on my 418, cools fine, even when it's hot, (90's) plus and humid. Send it back and buy the $1,000. radiator. Be Happy.
I am glad your off shore radiator works well for your application.
The OP is pissed off because he/she was told it will bolt right in and it did not. The OP is part of a growing group of Americans that will no longer support products produced in china.
So, yes you are correct it should be returned and replaced with a radiator that is made in the USA.
Off shore parts have no place in American classic cars.

I just did a quick screen measure, vert the mount holes appear to be the same, but horiz the old radiator is wider? Just where was the misfit?

It was late at night when I posted and I was a little tired and irritated that our brand was being unfairly 'bashed'. I apologize for the way I handled the question posed by SLEYNG.

That being said, I am not a liar ad I'm not trying to hide anything. I have run several very successful business's over the last 30 years of which Cold Case and Pypes are two of them. In fact, I have been accused many times of giving away way too much information about our company and the inner workings of our business. I participate on the forums because I'm very proud of our products and I still like to give and get feedback because in business, you can always get better.

But posts like Rusty's who have bug up their *** about a brand even for good reasons, 'get even' in the wrong way. Going on all topics about cold case to make general statements like 'none of mine fit' is not constructive. If you installed the exact radiator that the topic starter is discussing, then by all means tell the topic starter what you didn't like about yours. If you didn't install that radiator, then you are not helping the topic starter, nor any readers by saying the generalized things you say about our brand. Does anyone really believe that ALL our radiators don't fit? Would be be in business? As I have said many times, Mopars are tough to get right because there is so many models. Sometimes we merge models and there are slight variations and yes, a hole may have to be drilled or elongated. But not all and not even most. To me at our price point, it's still a very good value.

When I evaded the question, I did so because my answer would likely get a reply that would cause me to need to reply back. And as you can see by this topic, that's exactly what is happening. This is unfair to the topic starter. That's why I said to start a new topic and I'd answer any questions. I think that's a pretty fair offer, right?

Your correct this is not the place for that discussion, so I will not take this opportunity to chew your *** off.
Back on topic - The OP is unhappy with your offshore products.
Continue please

Unsure why this horse is being beaten to death. The op has his answer.
By the way, what does op stand for?

Thank you! Do not always understand abbreviations. I will say it once more, the OP has his answer.
I'm out.

Update…Cold case is being returned. Found more time to spend and traced an outline of the OE and all hole marks including shroud. Not anywhere close comes the cold case. Not even enough to modify without hacking the S$&@ outta it. Gonna try an OER MA2236S which is a repro model made USA, made of aluminum first. Last resort will be the nice and spendy Griffin 5-000027. For now the OG 1969 radiator is back in and working fine.

Griffin direct fit.

This may be a stupid question, but if the original radiator is working fine, why did you get a replacement to begin with?
Working fine for now but is “the original” and aged. It’s hot AF here with garbage traffic and 6000’ altitude. A new 2 row aluminum seems like an improvement for a daily that I’d like to have.

The OER radiator is a good brand. When we were in the GTO parts business, we sold them for years.

btw, The copper brass model is USA made. The aluminum version is not.

False advertising? Everywhere that offers it states Made in USA.

Here's my experience with Ccas and Cold Case radiators. Fact: the "direct fit" 756-A radiator was just that "direct fit". I did have a problem with their shroud and electric fan set up not clearing the fan pulley. Fact #2 They stood behind it and promptly refunded my money. Fact#3 Their radiators are Made in China (well made in this case) but Made in China. If you need a radiator made in USA you're going to have to pony up and pay twice as much THAT'S A FACT!!!
