I took my Dart to the Moparty at Beech Bend in Bowling Green hoping for a 9 second pass. The car has ran 6.25 @ 110 in the 1/8 with 1.34-36 60'. Street/strip 69 Dart, 3300# with me and no exhaust, 434" small block that runs on pump 93, 727, Strange S-60 with 4.10's and a 275 radial.

10.031 slip looked like it could have been the winner with your lowest reaction time. What happened between 330 and 1/8? did you notice anything on that run as you were on track for a record run there. Nice!
 
On the 10.008 pass I jetted the secondary's down two sizes. The last T&T i ran about two weeks ago I had jetted it up and it slowed a little in the 1/8, just wanted to make sure it wouldn't lean out any in on the back half. The fuel pressure is set at about 5 1/2 psi and is down to 3 psi in the traps.

Not complaining really, the car ran hard but I know there is a 9 in it.

Not complaining at all, just expected a little more. Don't we all? Had some crazy stuff happen, on two of the passes the guys in the other lane drove in and double bulbed me before I even turned on the pre stage light. At all the local tracks I run at folks don't do that, we pre stage and wait for the person in the other lane to do the same, then bump into the stage beams. Live and learn.

Congrats that car is working well the first half, the fuel pressure dropping in second half is a sure sign you don't have enough fuel pump and when its sorted you pick up 3-4 mph top end

I always strived to keep 5 in the traps -------?? but ur hauling a$$ !
 
Justin that's very close, If you could get your 60's in the 1.30's you would be there, 1.40's are a little slow for a car as fast as yours. Still not shabby at all, you should be very happy , your Hot Rod is flying for sure.
 
I see a 9.97 in October, you'll get it. I wonder if there's a way to keep your fuel pressure at 5.5 through the traps, maybe a bigger pump ? Seems to me that would get you there. Bad *** car nonetheless & you're already running what most can't lol
 
Well think about this LOL. Many/ most of us will never GO "9's". Hell I've never been into the 10's. 11's yes.
 
Damn close, I say you're already there, just a little bit of tuning and tweaking, maybe some cooler air. Impressive.
 
Sounds like some nice passes to me. True car guys are always driven towards a “new best”. Sixty foot, 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, etc and it keeps us from being bored. New bests took over going rounds and winning racers years ago. Not sure why but it did. I kinda found a semi budget “happy zone” running 6.0’s and 1.25-1.27 sixty foot times. The new engine won’t be as fast as my 422 but it will give me time to consider building it better for some New Bests. Lol
 
I'v been no were near 9, and don't know but here is what i'm thinking.
Some of them AN fitting, can be dam SmALL on the inside diameter. I would look into that before a better fuel pump.

Thought about any aerodynamics.......like maybe a front air damb?????

I think if you would have farted at the finish line you would have got your 9 sec run:poke::D
