Highest CFM flow heads, small black, Completely, under $3000

I just laugh when all the W-2 naysayers get on a soapbox. I would bet some have never seen a W-2 head in person.

Everyone is afraid of that voo-doo magic....

There really not that expensive anymore. Yes! They will cost more but then again, you get more. As always, you gotta pay for higher performance.

Once you have the head, you need valves and a valve job. After that, the springs, retainers and locks should be selected for the cam used, just like any other head you get. The only cost savings to a complete aftermarket head is if your cam can used the springs they come with.

Serious builders of power understand this and often change the springs on the complete head right away anyway.

As soon as I got my CNC ProMaxx heads, I whipped out the spring seat cutter and threw away the springs in favor of a spring better suited for the job. Checked the valve job, reassembled the heads…. BAMM BABY!

Oh sooooooo EZ!

Mopar guys hate offset rockers for some reason. Good rockers are usually at most a one time expense if you get Harland Sharps or T&D rockers. I got a bad taste in my mouth when mine cracked (econo heads) and by that time I could get W2 performance out of a much lighter aluminum head. W2 rockers do need ported to really see their magic.

Another thing many guys get wrong is building a big stroker then using stock or a cheap aftermarket head that cant flow what that long armed engine needs to work.

Off my soapbox....

Maybe someone could direct the OP to the source for brand new W2’s, that are the best flowing complete cylinder heads he could buy for $3k or less.

Facebook Mopar groups is the best place for me in both buying and selling. I can’t do it on my phone for some reason but if I write up an ad on one of the groups with pictures I can pick up to like 15 other groups to add my post to. When you sell it you post sold on one add and it lets the others ones know.

Doesn't look like his fakebook page has been updated in two years and the Bloomer Performance website link is broken? Can't seem to find anything online from them more recent than 2019. Does he have a site that I'm not finding?

I emailed and response was quick

What are the Highest flowing in CFM mopar small block heads as messured on a flow bench
Im asking about Complete heads, under $3000, no modifications, out of the box

If you buy your heads based on flow numbers you are going to do it wrong. Buy your cylinder heads based on cross-sectional area and valve diameter and not flow.

W2s will always be worthy candidates
Might be old school but they work.

Any head that flows 260cfm at .450 lift will work well. Especially years ago with cams like Racer Browns .520 lift solid lifter cam that many of the guys ran. Combine that with a stock stoke 340 and a little more compression and a good carb and you were ready to rock and roll. Their issue is after .450 lift they fall FAST but that is easily quickly fixed to get 300-305cfm with a 2.02 valve. Up the valve size to 2.05 or 2.08 and 220-230cfm is reachable.

It seems a lot of Mopar guys hate anything that doesn't look stock, or parts that won't work with their factory parts. For a large part we are our own worst enemy when it comes to aftermarket support.
