Hello fellow FABOers

Does anyone know if Scat or Eagle offer a stroker kit for a ‘69 340 with a 0.040” overbore?

I’ve searched on-line but have only seen kits with 0.030” overbore pistons.

Thank you!

.030 over already and you think .010 will clean it up? Just curious.

No, the engine has very low miles at 0.040.

I was possibly thinking of freshening it up and adding the stroker kit if the cylinder wall to piston clearance with the new pistons is within spec.

Buy your parts seperately... you can buy what you want and save money.

You only need pistons and a crank. You can use your 340 rods as they are very tough... better than Chi-Com IMHO. Stay away from Eagle... their machining and tolerances are lacking compared to Molnar and Scat. Don't be afraid of buying good used parts. I'm using the Mopar billet crank from my engine that blew up years ago. Welded the front rod journal and ground the others to match ($175.00). I bought lightly used $1800.00 Crower rods for $500.00. I did but new RaceTec pistons that ran $990.00 but I always buy the best I can afford.

Just added a $150.00 340 block to my stock, too.

Thank you for the great advice!

Make sure you compare actual parts when shopping. Who’s pistons are used, what rod bolts, etc.
H beam or I beam rods, etc, etc.

Yes actually there's quite a few of them out there as you see.

I got my kit from Mike at B3 Racing. Molnar crank, rods and Icon pistons. 040 over. My engine was a fairly fresh overhaul, it was the valve train that was destroyed. Honed cyls about .002 or so and ran it. 418

That’s what I’m hoping to get away with, a light honing.

Thanks for letting me know your experience.
