We were talking about bears. I shoveled 12 piles of scat out of me and my not at home neighbors yard this morning. Cleaned up all of his apples on the ground too. I think the apples aren't sweet enough for the bears. YET. We usually wait for a good freeze before we pick them.
Pardon my ignorance but what is scat?

She has a name I just don't remember it and not because I'm old and senile I just have to many to keep up with.
No diaper duty for me so far and plan on keeping it that way.
Speaking of senile what were we talking about????
Everyone will need to have a nametag when visiting Grandpa. What a joy though.
We were talking about a henweigh Fred

Rain finally stopped. We have a water feature in the backyard and the water is an inch from the top. I figure we had at least 5" of rain.
Took the Cuda out for a short drive to get gas and then double check the trans levels once hot... A-OK and shifting nice.

Well you made it to Friday once more. Hope everyone has had a great week. Some nice racing here and don't forget some more NHRA racing this weekend so set your PVR's, mine's already programmed

Been a funny day really. Mostly overcast but no rain. Been checking out prices on a walk in shower in the main bathroom. We're fine with the soaker tub right now but we never use it just the shower and we're not getting any younger. We have to think of the future.

Walk in shower is a good idea was thinking of doing the same thing.

Not much going on around here today some of the kids are coming over for dinner tonight and my cousin is coming here from Washington for a visit on Sunday. The house is quite right now other than got the music turned up in the garage I'm cleaning the Scamp.... Wax on Wax off kinda day.

Makes sense really. There are some grants out there to assist in improvements so seniors can stay in their houses longer. Got to look into it and see if we qualify.
Don't want to get old Mark but what the hell can't do anything about it.

a few years ago we had a company come out and install a conversion for in the tub

those two screws come out and the whole door lifts out, making for a much lower step to get into it
with the door in place and the screws tight, it is water tight and can be used as a soaker again

the door itself was around $500 and installation $300

i considered installing it myself, but when it leaked after 2 days and the guy came back to fix it, i was glad i spend the extra money to have someone else do it

now, one word of caution
make sure everyone in the house knows how to use this

why, you ask?

i will tell you

my youngest is 3, my middle one is 8

a few months ago my little one wanted to take a bath and my middle one helped her
only the middle one didnt know about the screws, so she just put the door in and turned on the water

now, the little one knows once the water gets up to the faucet, you need to shut it off
however, since the screws werent in, the water just ran out under the door and unto the floor

im not sure how long this went on for, but my oldest went to get something downstairs (the bathtub is on the main level) and noticed what he called "something from jumanji" with water pouring out of the light fixture and vent downstairs

that whole thing turned out to be about $20,000.00 worth of damages

Sounds like my kids when they were young but not as bad as $20,000.
My wife was just as bad as the kids though.

a lot of that was the flooring
some of the water ran out into the hallway and ruined the laminate flooring...but only 15 square feet or so
the insurance looked at the continuity of the laminate and replaced it all, close to 800 square foot

New flooring is good and expensive.
