a few years ago we had a company come out and install a conversion for in the tub

those two screws come out and the whole door lifts out, making for a much lower step to get into it
with the door in place and the screws tight, it is water tight and can be used as a soaker again

the door itself was around $500 and installation $300

i considered installing it myself, but when it leaked after 2 days and the guy came back to fix it, i was glad i spend the extra money to have someone else do it

now, one word of caution
make sure everyone in the house knows how to use this

why, you ask?

i will tell you

my youngest is 3, my middle one is 8

a few months ago my little one wanted to take a bath and my middle one helped her
only the middle one didnt know about the screws, so she just put the door in and turned on the water

now, the little one knows once the water gets up to the faucet, you need to shut it off
however, since the screws werent in, the water just ran out under the door and unto the floor

im not sure how long this went on for, but my oldest went to get something downstairs (the bathtub is on the main level) and noticed what he called "something from jumanji" with water pouring out of the light fixture and vent downstairs

that whole thing turned out to be about $20,000.00 worth of damages
DANG.

New flooring is good and expensive.
No kidding

I was somewhat glad it happened, I had new flooring on my list for a while and this forced my hand, plus the insurance picked up the tab

(Of course, we added a few rooms which had carpet in it and put the same flooring in there, which we paid for)

Another beautiful day here 28 deg c friggin hot but the rain she be coming , busy weekend coming up ,lots of hockey ,fire hall commitments no rest for the wicked .

YIKES!!!!

a lot of that was the flooring
some of the water ran out into the hallway and ruined the laminate flooring...but only 15 square feet or so
the insurance looked at the continuity of the laminate and replaced it all, close to 800 square foot
Unless it was from the same dyelot it would stick out like a sore thumb

Morning guys. A bit of rain expected sometime this afternoon but the evening looks good so far so may head to the car show tonight.

And on top of that, we changed it up a little
Instead of the laminate wood, we went with a vinyl plank system and we changed the color

Like I said, it needed to get done for a while, so im glad it worked out

Good morning men ,happy Saturday off to the hall weird getting up earlier than a work day gotta be a rule about that some wear:) cheers stay safe .

Didn't get any rain yet but it is threatening so car show is out. Not going to take the chance. Did cut the grass though and met some new neighbours that have or will be moving in.
BTW.. thanks to your President for helping Canada's two Michaels that have been in a Chinese jail for over 1000 days come back to Canada. We had the Exec from Huawai Meng Wanzhou ( The Princess of Huawei', is a Chinese business executive who is the deputy chair of the board and chief financial officer (CFO) of telecom giant and China's largest privately held company, Huawei) There was a warrant out for her arrest and to be transported to the U.S. for fraud charges. Our two Michaels were basically grabbed off the streets and held on trumped up espionage charges and one sentenced to 11 years. It was all a political thing of course. The woman was being held under house arrest and living in a mansion with just a ankle bracelet while our guys were being held in a cell with lights going 24/7, a form or torture.
The Chinese of course denied any foul play. Funny enough as soon as Wanzhou was released the two Michaels were set free and on a plane back to Canada. They probably passed each other across the ocean.
Can't trust those bastards.

Morning guys. Lot of sleeping beauties on here this morning. At least you can sleep in. I'm usually up at 5, the odd time I sleep till 6 but very rare.
Looks like a nice dry day so will be at the car show tonight for sure. Days are sure getting shorter and cool at night.
Have a good one.

Got the bugs off the Scamp and nice and clean and was going to go for a cruise today but didn't want to spend the next day cleaning bugs off again so It' beer time and relax.

Talked with FOG today on Facebook video. WOW has Freida grown and only 9 months old. His son finally found a 440 block so it's being magnafluxed and all the rest of the good stuff and picked it up in town. Go figure, they'd been looking all over the place for one. He's going to car shows and he's doing good. We had a few laughs. Still the same old Mike.
