Are people really that CLUELESS?

I worked in a Chrysler -Plymouth dealership when I went to college. Sales traded in an Audi that a young couple owned that had two St. Bernards. That rode in the back seat. A lot. The stench from those dogs was unbearable. The kid that was on the wash rack and I tried everything we could think of and could never get the smell completely out. We told the boss it'd take new upholstery to get rid of it and when he saw what that cost, the car got sold at a substantial loss.

Kind of like a smokers car... sometimes there's nothing you can do

ten of these ????

I see cars listed all the time with littered with garbage and trash .
Sometimes on FABO ! Really ?
You were too lazy to spend 10 minutes cleaning it out ? What else were you too lazy too do ? Change the oil? Or even check it ?

This goes for shop equipment as well. All the time I see lathes and milling machines for sale covered in shop dust and chips, with tooling left scattered randomly, like they were looking for something and then gave up. Then they stand back and take pictures.

I am of the opinion that it's in the seller's best interest to put their "best foot forward" and try to present whatever they're selling in the best light possible, but also be HONEST. Get your item as clean as you're willing to get it, then showcase the good AND the bad.

It's a used car! As is! If it were rust holes and not shown. youd be pissed , so what's the diff?
People complain that's not made to be the way they want it...??? well ****..maybe the guy should restore the whole car for you, pay your trip there with a plane or helicopter ride, roll out the red carpet, feed you, let you bang his wife, drink his beer, piss on his toilet seat, beat his dog put your stogie out on his favorite armchair, then brodie the front lawn on your way out...???

Damn, where do we find these people!?

The difference is if there were rust holes they knew about and didn't show them, that's deceitful. As a buyer, if the seller didn't care enough to try to present their item in the best way possible, that's an indication of how that item was cared for while they owned it. As a seller, I want to make my item look its best and not its worst. But that's just me.

I recently heard a story on some news show about a guy who bought a used car. Short time afterwards the son was cleaning/vacuuming and found 3000.00 cash under a floor mat. Turns out that the previous owner drove it to Florida and boarded a cruise ship. While I can't imagine how someone could forget about that money but... they did. So whats my point? Buy the car and a vacuum. Maybe you'll get lucky. LOL
I too did the used car PDI thing for 4 years. Large breads like huskys shed a lot of hair and can leave odor. I've seen leather unholstery in Lincolns totally ruined by the nails of small breads.

If you wanted to sell a toilet....would you flush it first??

LOL... that there if funny !!!!! Just show it was "recently used" :D :D

In all seriousness, I would have vacuumed out the car in the add, but the dog hair in the back wouldn't stop me from making the deal if I was interested in the car.

I agree, the dog hair wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me if I were truly interested in the car.

Seller is a Polar Bear poacher......the mess of white hair proves it! The Feds are on him, and he's tryin to pawn the car off on you to try and frame you.

Anybody here ever go on a date? I bet you showered and brushed your teeth. You probably even made sure you wore clean clothes.

Or maybe you rolled out of bed, found your cleanest dirty shirt, and gave her hell because you were just "trying to be honest."

The point is not whether the buyer would have to clean it . Its about the seller being smart enough to take 10 minutes to do something that will make him more money and in less time. You dont have to detail it for pictures.

I buy my vehicles for my dogs. Ya my year old caravan is scratched inside and has dog hair in it. It's the best trophy I've ever got and I'm proud of it.

I love my dogs and they ride in the truck with me.

Let me ask this, when you sell your Caravan, are you going to give it a good “once over” or will you list it for sale - dog hair and all?
