Stop in for a cup of coffee

Come over and fix mine. LOL I put a defrost timer in mine, the freezer is still not cold. That did the trick last time. Same MO

Since the repairman stiffed me last week, I did some searching on line and found this web site that was very helpful... Here it is:

Appliance Parts Pros.com Discount Appliance Parts – Since 1999

enter the make and model number of your appliance, then it will bring up a page with exploded views of the appliance and its different areas/systems, like this... Clicking on and open in a new tab for the proper system will open a tab with the exploded view in a larger better to see picture, then click on the picture to expand it even more... You can save it to your computer for later reference...

Go below the diagrams, there are buttons describing different failures of the appliance, click on one of them that best matches your symptoms and it will bring up a list of parts that can be the problem - with the most likely offender first, and then the next possible causes as you scroll down...

Here's mine:

As you can see, it lists the most likely component first, then some feedback from others on the problem, the one I highlighted fit my symptoms exactly... Read the comments and follow what they recommend...

These comments fit my problem and I followed their advice... The next part listed for my symptoms was the temp sensor and it was backed up by the two feedbacks I circled...

Here's a close up the first feedback, notice that the orange number is the amount of people that found the post helpful:

Here's one of the second feedback that matched mine... This guy mentioned the repair videos for the parts...

Under the listing for the different potential parts that may be causing the issue, there is a link for a video to show you how to replace that part... Very helpful, but may not show the exact model you are working on, but will give you the jest....

Here's the one for the other part that I replaced:

So since the most common causes for my symptoms were caused by the defrost thermostat and temp sensor, and they weren't too expensive (especially compared to the cost of a repairman), I ordered one of each... Under $50 with shipping...

I did look up the parts for my fridge on the GE website and found them a couple of bucks cheaper and they were 'genuine GE quality guaranteed parts' so I ordered them from GE... But you can order them from AppliancePartsPros.com as they are not too much more expensive and I see some feedback that they shipped quickly - parts came a day later for some of the people.... The GE parts took 3 days to arrive, so if you're in a hurry to get it fixed the couple of extra bucks for the appliance pro website isn't that unreasonable and it's nice to support them for posting the great info....

So go ahead and give it a go Mike...

Thanks Karl. I will have to check it out. As long as components aren't in the back. Ours is built in. (and not just slid into a cavity) Oops, that sounds kinky!

Have gotten stuff from them and used there how to info. There's a few parts places that are good with that. ereplacementparts is a good one. I like the videos. Used them for fixing my washer and dryer.

Now I find out there was a high speed chase on Hiway 1 about a mile from here that ended in a traffic collision. The perp was uninjured enough to make a run for it on foot. Sheriff's Dept. copter was hunting for him or her. If the perp got into the brush country or the nearby creek bed good luck to those deputies.

For any of you internet surfers you can watch a video of me and the Demon going down the alley and the DJ talking smack at a car show yesterday. My car is people’s choice number 13 the last car on the short video. The video is on FB business page for Fargo Moorehead area Sheriff Jahner and Jay Thomas fall classic car show west Fargo ND. I have no idea how to post something like that. My buddy the Sheriffs Duster is in the background. I cussed him yesterday as he ended up recruiting me to work the show all day instead of letting me wander aimlessly ogling the cars. We had 155 show up. And special happy Sunday to Craig and Cheryl on new digs. What a journey. Those two have worked their butts off the last couple of months.

Since covid, there are way more deliveries. Every shipper is overwhelmed at this point. It's kinda like playing the lottery to guess if your package will be a day early or a week late. It seems to be dumb luck. Maybe it's like catching the train just in time or catching the next one. Now they are saying something is changing with USPS and they will be even slower?
My problem with FedEx is how they do it. They tell you an item is coming one day and that’s it is on the truck for delivery, then suddenly, three days later, it shows up in a different state, only to repeat the journey. Adding yet another week
