66 Dart Owners thread

Yes its a good group I'm a member there too. I just wanted something dedicated just to the 66 GT, I'm selfish. Plus the 66 was the odd ball, 1 off before the next gen.
Start it they will come! LOL

FNG, '66 Dart GT blah, blah. Typed all that stuff about a week ago, but that got lost...

Hamtram car delivered to the south, has service stickers from Florida panhandle and the normal high rust of a Fla car. Factory air and tint, 273/2bb column auto, pwr steering, 14" wheels and some more options. Said to run, oil is clean, more to come...

This junk runs and drives! Brake master leaks, water pump leaks green(!), pwr steering HP hose has a split and the bulkhead connectors are fried at the B+ connections...

Sounds like an old FLA car to me... except for the actual coolant. Finally got the trunk open. A better condition '65 trunk lid was stuffed in there.

No with that rust? Had to come from up there somewhere.

What you see is a sun baked sea coast car. High rot and rust around every bit of bright work, paint baked off the Earl Shyster $99.95 color change.

Around here, the bottom foot of the body rots off while the front upper control arm mounts get very weak and the rear spring mounts do the same.

Does anyone have a nice center peice for the sterring wheel for my 66 dart ,not sure what to call it .LOL.Thanks

You will need to start a parts wanted thread and post a photo there of what you are looking for.

Got some totally not legal road time today, found all three speeds and a tight drive line. Have a new p/s high pressure hose to install, looking around here to find the somehow missing accelerator pump spring seat... all the local Mopar guys threw that stuff away. New fuel tank should be here tomorrow...

Anyone with a 66 have bumper guards and can take measurements on position (ie distance from bumper bolts) I bought a set and neither bumper I have had them.

Im curioius if my 66 Dart with A/C should have an pan or shield under the Rad .Thanks
Yes, there's a shield with a seal that mounts in front of the radiator core support. The seal extends forward to the bumper face bar. It's the same one used on the Valiant and Barracuda.

Prolly few here would watch "Top Gear", however, the latest broadcast has the crew buying $3k cars, and taking a road trip in Peru. The actually skilled host buys a very sharp '66 Dart GT. They drive ancient roads and top the highest peak you can drive to... and the Dart was well up to the task. Lotta dogs in Peru...

Well I’ve got 3 now. Just got a shell. Pretty nice. Almost hate to cut her up but going to a much better cause. Pics to come but damn we just rolled her off the trailer and into the barn late Saturday night then it rained like hell Sunday and today 33 degrees and up to 50 miles a hour winds so I’ve been in the house. 16 tonight. Boy you just have to love Michigan. But we got no damn alligators. Guess their smarter than me.

Ya but we got the real thing up here. CHICKENS.
Heck we have beef, pork, poultry, vinison (both wild and domestic), lots of seafood, fish and fresh water stuff, dove and quail wild turkey, and boiled green peanuts!!!!.... but...not sure exactly what the true tree huggers eat!!?:poke::popcorn:
