Are you just looking for basic VIN decoding?

"1970 Dodge Vehicle Identification Numbers (vin)" https://www.tpocr.com/dodgevin5.html

So it is a 1970 Dart Swinger 340 made in Canada, nothing else can be decifered from the VIN, what else do you need?

There is more info on the fender tag... should be able to decode up until the sequence number each of these means something...LM23HOR

as previously stated the model, engine and build plant may be all that's in these letters.

What those letters mean.

"1970 Dodge Vehicle Identification Numbers (vin)" 1970 Dodge Vehicle Identification Numbers (vin)

Car Line - L Dart
Price Class - M Medium
Body Style - 23 2 dr. Hardtop
Engine - H 8-340 4 Bar. Carb.
Model Year - O 1970
Assembly Plant - R Windsor, Ont., Canada

The rest is production number....

Edit to add... If you don't have the fender tag then you're in the same boat I'm in where you're doing forensics as you go through the car and figuring out what happened over the years.....

I am lucky I guess I have my fender tag and kept the original C7 paint on it, it matches up pretty wee to the new paint...have the build sheet also, however my car was in pretty bad shape, was a street fighter, had some dents and dings etc. my avatar pic is one of few pics as the car was before it was taken down for resto.

if you click on it you can see the roof crud where the vinyl top was over the passenger side windshield etc. its also a better 3/4 view photo...

Your fender tag and build sheet will tell you everything about the car.

Vin is VERY basic info as noted above.

Thank you all for your responses. I know a lot more about my car now. What I’m looking for is it’s history. Owners, locations, mods can’t find a thing

The only people who can find info from the VIN are law enforcement. It is run through the DMV.
Think about it. Do you want someone to know information about because of a vin #. ?

You could check with your dmv and see if there is any info they can share.

If you know the area / city the car was sold in or bought from. You could check with local dealers and oil change places.

I have heard of people tracking down the original dealship and them having the origional sales paperwork.

GA did not issue titles back then...whomever owned the registration slip owned the car. Tuff to get info...

If your car is the orange car above something doesn't look right. Does the rad support have the vin or the trunk lip. Car looks to be a clone. One give away?? Can anyone see it?

LM23HOR150120

For starters, this is not a valid VIN.

Chrysler used the 0 (zero) for the last digit of the model year, not the letter O.

LM23H0R150120 perhaps?

I believe All 340 swingers in 1970 came with drip rail chrome. The blank is still in place to fill the gap on this DART body.

Useless...
