Stuck two barrel carb difference?

Was rebuilding a spare carb when I notice something I had not noticed before. What’s the marked bump out?

On the second carb..there is a bump out with a hole in it. What’s the purpose of the bump out/hole. The other two barrels I have do not have that. The arrow points to the bump out/hole that the one on the left does not have

Irr tree s not part of a gasket. It’s part of the center body of the carb. I’ll take a better pic

May be where something was attached, like a choke cable hold-down bracket? It does look like a manual choke carb. Just a wild guess.

It could very well be simply a locating point for the machining process
