What’s with this current fad or trend with labeling everything as 1st Gen, 2nd Gen, 1st Generation 3rd generation etc nonsense? Seems it’s all the rage as everything is identified via the Gen or generation label. Likely emanated on Faceplant and now everyone uses it to ID everything. Stupid fads.... speak English for f’s sake, act your age and stop with the nonsense! A 70 a-body is a 70 a-body ok, yeah, old school rules! I’m good now:lol:

Gen 1, Gen2, Gen3 Barracuda. You don't have to be year specific and the discussion doesn't turn into a **** show as to whether a 64 1/2 was a 64 or not.:lol:

I know the lingo has been around for a while, really became aware of it by how people were referring to the Cummins powered D-Series and W-Series......there I go again using proper old school nomenclature! Now everything is 1st Gen, 2nd Gen Ram blah blah blah:rolleyes: I got a 90 W-Series, a W-150 Power Ram with a 318 No need for new nomenclature thank you very much. I know what I got:lol:

When you need a fender for a 1990 Cummins w250, and want to know what other years will fit, the term First Gen helps a lot.:)

I don’t like the gen crap on dodge trucks. The first gen usually refer to 73-93 trucks. Dodge has been making trucks since before ww1. Is my 61 w200 a 0 gen? -1 gen?

I know what you’re saying, it’s just 21st century new lingo that is popular now, catchy and hip etc. I just don’t see the need for it. But it’s all good. :)
I speak 1981-93 Dodge D### or W###, or 62-64 B-Body, 80-83 J-Body etc, that’s very specific as to the exact models. As it has been since the factory so designated. This Gen stuff is just redundant new speak.....just like another phrase I absolutely disdain: “Game Changer” .....that one really “grinds my gears” LOL

Man, I've never been accused of being "Hip" before. Most of the people I know are convinced that I am stuck in the 20th century. I'll have to "Screenshot" this and Facebook it to my friends.

1st on the trucks refers to the Rams era. Not the power wagon era. basically 1981 when the Power Ram started thru 1993. It was actually a Dodge marketing scheme in the 1990s that started it. I’ve got a poster from 1993 showing the 1994 body style and labeled it as a 2nd generation Ram

I thought you were talking about the recent generation of humans, no comment on the other topic
