I was a kid in the 90s , no where near a driver's license or anything adult so I missed out a lot but it seems that when I started, the 23 dart body style cars were in abundance. My first A body was a hand me down 72 dart, then I hit jackpot when I found a 74 duster which became my second A body.
Don't feel bad, I was a teen in the 80s, and we had fun, playing music, helping wrench, some racing,, but wasn't old enough to own a car till 89, so I got cheated too! Lol

Looks familiar, now hiding out in a stairwell waiting for the 68 valiant to get done so I can work on the dart sport next. My dart sport has the same issue that someone cut the taillight openings up and installed duster taillights..... must have been something people commonly did for some reason.

I had 2 of those Dart Sport taillight panels. One original and the NOS one.
 
I cannot understand why someone would wanna go there...
A person's preferences change with time.
I prefer these cars in this order:
71 Demon.
70-72 Duster
73-74 Duster
75-76 Duster
73-76 Dart Sport.
I have found that Dart Sports can be bought cheaper than the same year Dusters. The front bumper on the 73-76 Dusters didn't look all that different. The Dart Sport bumpers in 1975-76 got bigger. Not like the Ford Maverick did though. Those looked terrible, huge and sticking off the body a good 6 inches or so!

I had a running /6 71 Demon, in the mid 90s, Dude jacked the door panels. It was primer grey. 250$. Drove it for a bit, but had nowhere to store Her... sold her to a bud for the same price....definitely one of my favorites, in Retrospect

Back in the 80s and 90s, I ran across some original paint, original engine cars that were still very nice. In 1983 almost bought a '71 Demon in light blue that was very clean. Everything worked on the car. The slant six was a huge drawback to a young gearhead so I passed on it.

Man that sucks... I chased a 68 Notch that sat for years, could see from I-275 Also there was a 66 barracuda that was in a driveway, for 10 years, never interested. Now, a Cat, in the Hood, had a Hemi Orange 69 RoadRunner in his back yard for 10 years also. You could see it, whenever you went to "AAace" used parts. He wasn't coming off it. I door knocked all of em... Most everything I got, worth having, was turned over/ offered to me by Friends, or Family of Friends.... although I remember buying a 68 Coronet 318 4 dr,Dr, and driving, for 300 bucks, I Borrowed ,in Change, before my son was born, around 93

Interesting side note on the 71 Demon, never drove her, got her towed to a friend's, got her running, drove her around the block. The door was shut, but not completely latched, as I turned a corner, the door popped open, I went out, with a foot hooked under the pedals, dragged across my back on the asphalt.. car slightly tagged a chain link fence, in a vacant house, my buddy's wife tripped out, so I drove her to another friend's, not far away...

The big bumper era. Something the government felt we needed to protect us at 5 mph front and 2 1/2 mph rear.

@Kern Dog, When I was 17, I looked at a new gold 340 Sport with 3 speed manual, black bucket seats, sunroof, folding rear seat. Sticker was $3591. I wanted it but my dad thought I should get a loaded Challenger instead. Big mistake. I called that Challenger a rattle trap. Friend bought the gold Sport. It had a black up and over stripe. He removed the stripe and we spent days trying to get the glue off of the paint. But I got to drive it a lot. Several of us would swap cars for up to a month at a time. Loved that gold color. He put some skinny chrome spoked wheels on the front and I had 10" aluminum slots we put on the rear (like the Billy the Kid 72 pro stock Demon).

Ironically the '69 "Plymouth" Barracuda Is where the '73 - '76 Dodge Dart and Dodge Dart Sport got their hoods from, same hood.

The precursor to the Dodge '73 - '76 Beak Cars.

Would have been nice if they would have stayed with the '69 grille design, now that looked nice.
 
Does a 73 scamp qualify as a "beak" car? Do I need to whip myself if I "adjusted" the front bumper a bit?

I really liked that 73 Dart hood with the slight peak in the center. We put a lumpy cam in my friends gold 340 Sport and you could see the hood rock side to side slightly between the fenders. Now that was a shaker hood!

I had a 76 Feather Duster and a 7??? DartSport. I never knew I was looked down upon till I heard "beaker" on here!! LOL
No, but I dislike overly big bumpers and those tiny inside door handles!
 
I worked at a Dodge Dealership in the early 70's .1973-74 when the insurance companies came down hard on muscle cars we got allot of Dart Sports in with the stripe and Dodge logo on the rear quarters. The package was called the Dart Sport Rallye.Many were 318 3 speeds.We did get a few 4 speeds in but most of them were pre-ordered. I wanted one that came in that was grey,black vinyl 1/2 top, black buckets, ralley wheels and a 4 speed. I had a 70 340 4 speed Duster at the time and just couldn't swing the $58 a month payments to step up to a new car. They were going to give me $800 for the Duster on trade. I was making $1.25 a hour at the time. Boy I feel old... I did step up to a new Aspen in 76. I was making $5.00 a hour then.

Rust Free Body, had to bring it back.

Weighted down full of Mopar parts.
