Suppose you won $10,000 on a lottery scratch-off. How would you spend it on your car?

Assume for the moment that you netted the money.
Ten thousand dollars.
If you had to spend it on the car, what would you do?

Me?

With "Ginger", I might indulge in a set of power windows, a better stereo, maybe go through the engine and change a few things up. I'd like to see how those Trick Flow heads would work for me!

This car.....

Ten grand wouldn't finish it! I'd still go full tilt on the interior. I'd have enough left over to buy weatherstripping, window fuzzies, exterior door handles and a few other things we replace after paint work. Body and paint can wait!
This Dart runs great but needs everything!

I HAVE to spend it on the car? That's easy. I'd get the bodywork all done and get her ready to paint. Might could get it painted for that. I just don't know.

6-71 setup, finish engine work, heads.
If skipping the 6-71, I'd include the following. QA1 suspension and caltracs, 833 conversion, right side rocker panel, sub frame connectors, torque boxes, fiberglass front clip and decklid, that would probably eat up all $10k.
If any was left over, cage and interior.

10 Gs for me would go a long way because i would do any and all work myself, because i dont trust ANYONE with my car. I wont even let anyone else check the air in my tires.

Assuming i am working on the 68 Lada Valiant which is my current project

15 hundo in the paint and body because i use omni single stage in the brightest white I can find

2Gs in a stereo system with some mean *** woofers, it would rattle the decklid like a mexican lowrider in New Mexico, except not that rap ****, some hardstyle EDM pumping. I would also tint the windows ( I might do that anyway)

2Gs in the engine, slant six headers, clifford intake, cam and shave the head job. I have almost 2Gs in my slant in the valiant wagon so i would duplicate that for the Lada valiant.

1G in the disc brake upgrade

15 hundo in a 8.75 suregrip upgrade with superstock springs to lift the car a good 3 inches up. (make a bigger space between the top of the tire and the wheellip all the way around )

2Gs in a close ratio 4 speed upgrade from the 3 by the knee setup i have now
that puts me up to 10Gs. It goes quick

Well, if I could find a 4 spd car w/ new front door panels and new front seat covers in white, with billit specialties front rims...maybe I could trade some of the parts off it for a lower 1/4 extension, installed,.and painted. A new front glass w/ trim would be cool. I had a bud that was a dealer for Antique Auto Air. Complete system was 750,.or so. But that was 10 years ago. Maybe I could find that sound...... lol

I would build mine for the zombie apocalypse or the purge that’s coming.

What those that like that boomin **** music don't understand is, it all sounds the same outside the car. Like ****. Even "new" country sounds like *** boomin like that. I remember back in 80 or so when that crap was first appearing. I couldn't stand it then and I loathe it now. It sounds about as unrealistic as music can possible sound.

Hire a full time mechanic out of work and move his tools to the hill to Finnish things up.

Hookers and blow. Oh, you said the car... On my 68 Dart, I'd probably build a 408 from the spare 360 roller LA motor I've got. Maybe spring for fuel injection, in tank fuel pump, etc.

On the 66 Dart project car, I'd probably put a 512 shortblock together and buy some of the many odds and ends I still need to procure - seats, wiring, etc.

Spoken like a true old timer :poke:

What most people with bumpin systems don't realize and it even irritates me at times, is there is a time and place for it. When you're going trough a nice neighborhood or through dense population then you slow down and turn it down out of respect. But when you're on the interstate or some country road with no one around, that's when you blast.

There are times its just inappropriate and other times when it kicks ***. At least IMO

Probably buy a stroker kit for my spare 360 block, efi, and an overdrive transmission. Any leftover $$ would go to better seats and maybe an electronic gauge cluster.

Interior, glass, suspension on barracuda, build the LA motor and get a running start on Heidi's 69 mach (sorry, but it is a bad azz car, she is worth it. I bought that wreck two months after knowing her......) everything else is just time spent, so take more time off work to get it done!!! Of course all ya'll would have to put up with me more with that time on my hands....."what's this do? How do i.....? How come this doesn't work? What's going on with my gauges????? And on and on....poor FABO.

FABO RULES!

Not sure I could stomach putting 10k into it but if that's the deal body, paint, put the Vinyl top back on it, and a fresh windshield...

And raffle it off....

I would probably paint my 66. It needs it although putting $10 g's into paint would make it look nice, I could never recoup that $$$ input.
