My '65 Valiant came with the optional wood grain style steering wheel. Like most, it's worn and faded.
Until I spend the big bucks to restore it, which leather wrap do you like? Sea Blue, since the car/top/interior are blue, or Brown, to mimic the original brown color.
I'm 50/50 undecided.
(We tossed out the tan option, even though I can get that color for a quarter of the price!)

4. Save your money for an original steering wheel in better condition.

Wheel wrap is ghey. If you just have to do it, at least get a color that's closer to the original.

If the brown color was woodgrain, it doesn't make sense to use brown leather. Go with the blue leather to match the upholstery. I assume this is a sew-on wrap from Wheelskins or similar, not one of the goofy ones that you wrap laces around.

Blue.
I have a real oak wood wheel on my Cortina, but I didn't feel like refinishing it. My girlfriend at the time did a beautiful job of sewing a red leather cover for it, from scratch, still nice many years later.
Kinda too bad it was the ONLY thing red on the entire car.

You could have just said "brown".
I could have. But that wouldn't have been being completely honest. I was just messin with you.

Ultimately, I think it's a good idea. It'll help keep it from being deteriorated anymore from UV light.

I think I like the blue as well. Don't let these guys get you down.:(
Oh hush up. I was just messin with him. lol

After lookin at it a second time, I agree about the blue.

This ain't easy!
I'm 100% split 50/50 on the color choice. I've been asking friends and such, and the brown is in the lead, but I'm having a hard time deciding.

Another vote for blue.

Had my 63 Valiant convertible in a show. At the time it was running my original 65 Barracuda sport wheel. Not faded, no cracks, but with over 300,000 miles of driving, all the wood grain was worn off.

So one of the judges asked me, "why do you have a brown steering wheel in a black interior?"

Anyway, a brown leather cover in a blue interior doesn't seem right to me. Go blue.

Then use both colors

My opinion...

If there is other woodgrain on the interior, the brown will look fine. If the rest of the interior is shades of blue, the brown will look out of place. I recently saw a really nice woodgrain wheel for sale at a decent price. I was tempted to buy it but it would have been the only wood in the interior. I decided it wouldn't look right.

Believe it or not, he was a member of the South Georgia Mopar Club. Of course, I guess he still could have been a Chevy guy. . . .
It was plain he was not a Mopar guy. LOL

Definitely blue. As others have stated, wood grain would be fine, but brown vinyl would be out of place.
