Installing a petronix unit is simple this is a slant but the 8 is the same.
Remove the points and condenser and primarly lead, can be done installed, I took the breaker plate out for better pictures.

Clean area
Install positioner plate for the pick up. Lock tight the screw is recomended....

I used a system like this WAY back in the late 80s. It's only issue was it used a propriety rotor. I like this one, you could go back to points on the side of the road if you had to.
