I didnt know they ran mushroom lifters. Stroked 340's for bigger piston area.

Jegs has them in iron $650 each bare. Im sssuming the cost of the rockers. Pushrod, Springs . , Valves, would make it more worthwhile to by a set of Trick Flow

355 is not a destroked 360! no 360 parts on it. It's a slightly stroked 340, think the crankshaft was around 3.45 something stroke.

Trickflowheads are not even in the same ballpark as a W-2 comparable as cast yes, but you're comparing a stock location push rod to a relocated push rod head no real comparison after a Max Porting job.

The 355 was developed for the 360 cubic inch circle track racers. And was quite dominant in its time.

I’ll take the W2 over Trickflow. The W2 is a proven head and still going strong after all these years.

What a lot of people don't realize is the 355 W-2 motor won lot of big races including Sprint car world championship I think was kinzer behind the wheel and Richard Petty used the 355 and I believe it was 1979 and won NASCAR races most people thought he was still using a 426. And countless other wins at circle tracks

*I Think* the W2 was introduced in ‘75/‘76.

Unless you have a time machine you’re not getting new W2 heads from a commercial vendor.

Theyre cast iron repops
No one repop a W2 heads. Don’t know how the hell you thought that one up!
48 degrees, educate me pls
Lifter angle change from 59*’s in order to straighten out the pushrods for geometry correction on the whole system. You also get more out of the camshaft lobe directly translated. The problem is expense! It’s huge!

I just looked them up again
Jegs, w2 cast iron heads, $656 each. ill call them
Update
Currently out of stock for 59 degree blocks
With standard cam
65 CC chamber
Mopar performance 5249769
$656
Im sure Ill be shocked at the price of the heads valvetrain when i look it up

Update, crazy money for Valve, , springs, rockers, pushrod. PLUS a pro to build them. Looks like Ill porting my stock magnums, paying with sweat

Stock W2 heads are still available from private owners and I see them often. There is even a Facebook group for W2’s. Heck I have a buddy that has two brand new W5 heads that he will never do anything with. And the stock econo W2 heads I flow tested went 260@.450 then fell on their face. With the stock valves I easily had them up over 300 cfm and ran 9.80’s in my duster with a .520 Racer Brown solid lifter cam on pump gas BP93. They cracked after three years of use.
