Stop in for a cup of coffee

Friend of mine had just completed his custom paint scheme on his Baja Bug, real nice stars and stripes in red, white, and blue on all the cooling shrouds. VW hair dryers had the coils mounted on the fan shroud with the electrical pointing down towards the distributor. Eddie thought the black coil looked out of place on his new paint and very carefully cut the bottom and top out of a Badweiser can and fitted it around the coil :D . He was working on it one day and wandered off leaving the ignition switch ON. Yeah, 15 or 20 minutes later it barfed oil and copper all over his new red white and blue paint :BangHead:

Think my progress is a foot an hour. Cleaning top of toolbox, and now my benches. Very slow going. Booting out the tire machine and balancer too. No more tire work. Just personal use. Last straw was a guy coming to do a changeover and never showed. Calls 2 days later to rebook. Nope. He gone.

thats a problem?
Mine is in the stock location on the manifold...
I got one of those dress up sleeve things and I painted it black so it dissipates heat better and I lined the inside of the sleeve with a few layers of heat tape to try and keep it cooler

I thought oil filled was supposed to be vertical while epoxy filled could be either? Now I am not sure.

Gave up on cleaning shop. Dragged out the trailers that were in storage. Then kid’s car wouldnt start. Somehow the battery cable on starter was loose.easy fix. I dont think it ever turned over so well. Hmmm…

Been a rough start to the year. Almost had enough. Brother in law passed away yesterday. He wasnt well, cancer, diabetes, bad circulation and Dimentia. He went downhill fast. At least he’s not suffering. It was Torture for my sister, worse now of course.

I sent her some money, shes having a lot of financial problems too. Gave her what i could afford. Next is getting her out to visit Mom.
Sorry to hear that Frank.

Dang, I hate it when I don't think things through. I bought a couple cedar planters and some flat metal for brackets. They are a bit tough to bend a radius for the hooks with a small vice and no pipe but I got them pretty close. I wanted it to hang straight so I drilled one set of holes and had to slot the other side to get it level. :BangHead:
I hang it up and stand back to look and damn, something isn't right. The damn fence pipe isn't level.:BangHead:
Oh and of course, I drilled the wrong side. The side you see has knots and the back is clear. It's all screwed up. I might have to go back and see if Menards has another planter. :mob::mob: Ok it doesn't look that bad from the photo.

I gave it a like, and I think the knots add character.
Pulse the brackets line up pretty good with the privacey slats.
Heck your not building a rocket to the moon.
Good job.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I'll let the wife decide.

So much fun. The ol' 4020. What a great tractor. Spent a lot of time behind that wheel. 6th to 8th. and pull out on the throttle knob and push down on the throttle pedal for a extra 2 mph. They did 22 if I remember.

This one even quicker. It’s got the powershift. Plus larger turbo, cam, and p pump. It’s quite peppy. Factory 105 hp rating in a very light but strong chassis. I’m guessing 130-140 hp easily
