A new MAC Tools Maximiser. Been a while but I bet $7500+

Hmmm…It’s not red:) Does it have a hitch? Come a long way from MBC boxes, huh. Nice ride for your tools.

Friends Cornwell box he got for pennies on the dollar, about 7-1/2% of MSRP retail price. While a helluva deal, in my world, it's still an appalling amount to spend on a "toybox".

I have my old MAC MBC Century box from back in 73' It still works. The new boxes are USA made in Georgetown Ohio.

I might give $500. Think that might buy me the wheels?:realcrazy:
I bought a set of wheels for Snap-On’s industrial tool box (similar to this MAC, KRA-562, I think) around 1982 to put under a Link Trainer I traded for. Imagine my shock when I got my tool bill and my dealer cost was almost $900!!!

I was told by my dealer rep that MBC made the boxes for Snap-On at one time. The KRA-380 looked very similar to some MBC boxes, as did the KRA-56 & 59.

We had spring loaded Jarvis brand casters that were $250 each. Not cheap but the best in the business.

I coukd never fathom spending that much on a tool box. My harbor freight 44" wide box has served me well for over 11 years. Drawers still open and shut like new, the wheels are great and the struts that hold the top box lid open have been open for all of the 11 years. And it's packed to the hills. I've thought about adding a second piece to the side.

44 in. x 22 in. Double Bank Roller Cabinet, Red I also have the matching top box and side locker, all series 1 though

7,500 bones would sure buy a lot of tools. Or a complete 671 blower setup, with maybe some left over. Lol

I have NO desire to spend that on a box, even if I was a professional. Lol

I must admit that I am truly confused about such high prices. I totally understand that quality costs money, and I do NOT want to upset or offend people who sell or own MAC, Cornwell or Snapon tools and cabinets, but for that much money, you could buy a very nice cabinet as big or bigger and fill it with good quality tools that would last a lifetime. I have Craftsman tools that are 50 years old. I could count on one hand the number of tools I have broken / damaged over the years.

Well I have to say I don't "love" the new tool boxes, cause I don't "love" the payments. lol

Tool boxes don't make money. Its the tools that bring in the cash. We bought all three of these machines for $2000 with a wooden box filled with tooling. The trailer was $5500. Auctions are where to spend your money. AuctionZip.com. Companies are going out of business all over the country. We're going to pick up a tow behind cement mixer tomorrow.

Bought a like new $2000 block tumbler two weeks ago for $300. Things are going cheap at auctions. A used box like that they go around $1500 at some auctions .

Also There are guys that finance them lose their jobs and sell them cheap and default on the loan. Watch search tempest. You won't find the deals on sites with ID. such as Facebook or Ebay .

That mill on the back of the trailer is worth AT LEAST $8000 I think. What a buy you got. All 3 of those look pretty new or very well taken care of.

Snappy rep said he would pay full retail for my old roller cabinet and apply it to my new purchase. I had just recieved the box as a gift from friends and family as a 50th birthday gift. No way i was giving it up.
He thought i was nuts. Then i mentioned toobox doesent make money, its just for status quo. I work alone in my own shop, and i dont care what people think.
But i did spend $600 on an air hammer, almost a grand on ball joint press and 500 on a cordless ratchet. They make me money.
