So I have a chance to buy a weiand xccelerator in good condition it is 225.00 what do you think. I feel it would make a really good stroker intake.?

Like this one pictured below?:

Search history here for ones that have sold. Seems to fly under the radar. Don't think I'd pay $225 for one.

Call Matt a Glendora Dodge Mopar Performance (909) 675-0268 and he has a NOS stash of MP M1 small blocks for $250. Brand NEW !

Much rather have a brand new M1 with a raised plenum to allow air to cool underneath it.

I have an M1 on my 416 stroker. Worked great. It's not as aggressive as say a Victor single plane. The M1 has more curved runners. Like that Weiand.

Kinda depends on your build... Heads? Cam? Gears? Stall speed? It's a single plane, so it's not gonna start building power until a little higher up, say 3-3500 rpm...

Yeah I run an m1 for many many years and is one of my personal favorites the only thing I was considering is the square bore flange. But $250 for a new m1 is a killer deal no getting away from that.

Yes this would be for a stroker, I really see no advantage of a dual plane with a 4-in arm there's gobs of torque below 3,500 RPMs and and I personally would not run a dual plane on a stroker.

I think a Street Dominator would win out over the Accelerator. By a good bit. It would certainly have a bit more on the bottom and match the Accelerator at least on top. Maybe better. ...and I agree. 225 seems a bit steep, BUT new intakes are either hard to get, you cannot get, or they take forever to get. So I'm sure that affects used intake prices.

Glendora MP had small block ones in stock at a show last week.

just call and ask for Matt

The spread bore deal is a minor bummer. But no reason to buy (for your specific combo) an inferior intake that happens to be square bore.

Like one step forward, but 2 steps back.

Spreadbore carb pad is a minor issue fixed through the MP books instructions of danm installation. EZ-PZ nice and easy. Even a Chevy guy can do it.

For a standard head, the Weiand is way better than the Holley Street Dom. Now the Holley STRIP Dom would be the better of the two.

Like said above, a lot depends on the cam, gear, stall, etc…. Of the engine and what it is designed to do. A dual plane like the RPM is an excellent choice for a mild compression medium sized cam and gear ratio. This would be great in a heavy A body, as in, power everything and A/C along with any other thing that adds weight.

If your car is light (under 3300) with a pro street or drag theme, then it’s the single plane which goes great with cams like a duration @050 of 250 and greater, higher stall converters, 4.10 & greater gears.

IMO, that Weiand would be very good on relatively stock displacement sized engines. It is a very good intake.

I only have a 236/242 @0.050 with a comp 274-solid

416” with ported Edelbrock heads. I have equivalent to 3.55 due to my short 24.5” tires compared to most other running 27” or so.

I mentioned switching the M1 single plane for a RPM dual plane I have on the shelf. And the guy that directed motor build said, “DONT YOU TOUCH IT”

it runs excellent. Very responsive. Car weighs 3209 lbs.

I have stiff suspension, low profile tire, handling shocks… I’m never going to transfer weight on the street.

This is your set up in the “Autocross Cuda” correct?

Yes, more setup for occasional track days. I drive it on the street and freeway all the time. Weekly or more.

It seems to be a good combination, low maintenance, stoplight to stoplight deal for what I do with the car.

At the track a new Challenger SRT-8 392 6-speed with headers could not pull side of me on the straightaway (about 70 to 120 mph)

Speedo is way off. Only doing 80-85
