Positive wheel chock 1/2” plywood with block screwed to it. Once tire is on plywood the block can’t slide.

Vise grips with heavy chain link welded on. I have used it with a slide hammer and to hang something temporarily with no other means of attachment. These grips had standard threads so I used a bolt rather than weld on the original adjustment piece.

A member asked about removing windshield wipers in another post and I replied that he should make a tool and then thought that this thread would be more appropriate.
Anyway, to make wiper removal easy (even those that have been in place for 50 plus years) just go to your local hardware store and get yourself an L bracket and make one of these. You will never scratch or chip another cowl removing wiper arms.

I was installing new carpet and wanted nice clean holes for the seat belt bolts, seat posts and the dimmer switch. I used a piece of conduit for the seat posts and the seat belt bolts. A piece of chain link fencing top post was perfect for the dimmer switch. I cut a length of each and sharpened them into round knife edges on my bench grinder. I located the holes with an awl from the backside and then put a small piece of wood underneath the carpet hammering the cutter into the wood from the top. Perfect holes. I used a razor to cut any little loose strands of carpet hanging onto the cut out plug

I've been told a soldering iron works great to keep edges on home made holes from fraying

What I have done was install the carpet and use the soldering iron to locate and make the hole from the other side (seatbelt holes from under the car, etc.)

NICE, so clean and a quick soldering iron around the hole would have made it perfect to look OE as Chrysler didn't use the plastic grommet that comes with repro carpets.

Cheap always clean funnel. Cut bottom off the plastic container of your choice. The ones that are slightly wider at the bottom are best. Cut the remainder of container to length desired and use bottom piece to cap it.

Or just temporarily replace the screw with an eyebolt, or even a homebrew bolt that screws right onto your hammer stem

Not a tool but didn’t know where to post this. Couldn’t see paying $300.+ for one of these so I spent the last couple days building my own.

Dang that is nice just need one for left hand use for those of us that drive on the wrong side of the road, as we never received pistol grip shifters here

after sand blasting backing plates and chasing the sob's around trying to put shoes and stuff on them, i came up with this idea. drill press vise, 2 3/8 bolts, 43/8 nuts, a 2x6 and 2 lag screws. works for me.

Shaft mount valve spring compressor...Mazda style! May work on a Mopar too if I make the shaft cut fatter

Old broken jack handle and 2 pieces of 1/8" metal from a past 1 time project. Slip hooks under rocker arm shaft and pry down spring. My 'shaft' is a 13" piece of old 1/2" ratchet extension so no harm if it gets scratched. YMMV.

Don't look like much but 99% of my paintless dent remover tools are homemade I bend them break them and keep making more. These have saved thousands of dents and made me thousands of dollars and just what I have kept after retiring because I used them the most and still do on occasion.

Takes a good eye to be able to use all those tools.

Made up a CB Radio base station antenna.

9' Whip and 21" diameter Ground Plane, mounted 16' up off the ground on the front of the shop.

Next step > raise it higher yet. Higher up = more distance.
