Best RACK AND PINION set-up for Early A?

Not really...

just want to know what's out there and current!

Otherwise if i can't ask that here, I'll just delete my account and take this web site out of my "favorites folder....

If I was making the swap, it would be either a HDK or RMS. both have given great support on other items and have good track records in my book.
for me the old mopar stuff just works.

Oh, no.....Don't go away. Think of all your fans that will be disappointed and go on to lead sad and miserable lives!

I know a guy that bought a setup from what I call the Harbor Freight of front end kits....."Magnum Force".
What he got was a bolt in crossmember with no motor mounts of any kind, a wider turning radius, less suspension travel and more vibration.
But hey....He was able to fit headers on a 360.
Guess what? You can do that with the stock suspension too, you just don't have as many options.

Blame it on the resto-mod craz.
I wonder IF the OP has ever driven an old car, or old Mopar?
A big part of classic car ownership is feeling what it was like back in the day. Today so many have no desire to have that feeling and where not even born back then, much less driving.
Like said, a good OEM steering box, manual or power, and front suspension, drives just fine.

you are 100% correct. i have no desire to feel our dart with shitty alignment specs, shitty brakes snd shitty bias ply tires.
Ya, I get it. But, back in the day allignment specs were based on that bias tire, thats what we and till the radial came out. It work fine for that type tire. Bias tires were fine, we knew nothing else. We also understood our machine and its ability to stop and paid attention. But I have always lived in the sticks where there was NO traffic.
As we have all said a million times, build your car like you want.
How many time have we seen people afraid to drive their oldMoparanywhere as it had points/condensor????? :poke::realcrazy::rofl:

As far as the original posters question, I would compare HDK & RMS, IF I was inclined to make that change.

I was actually looking for this same info because I was looking to do a GEN 3 Hemi swap into a '65 Cuda. HDK/RMS/Bouchillon Performance all feel like $5K is where the pricing for Double A-arms, tubular K members, big disc brakes, and coil overs should be. I was actually looking into fabricating my own set-up using traditional hot rodder components that are more readily available and a co-worker's Plasmacam, my tube bender, my welder(s), and a tape measurer.

 Not a single person I knew that had any of the then NEW electronic ignition systems in the mid 70s didn't have a spare module behind their seat

...Umm YEAH I have and still do, and it fkn SUCKS! I'm no spring chicken to "old" Mopar!

Precisely the main reason I want modern suspension technology in my currant build...

I can see it, IF I had the $$$ to throw at it and the strength to do it, IF I really wanted such. IfI only ever had one old Mopar I was working on, I might have a different view. I have always had 4-5 in the works. Just me. More power to those that march to the beat of a different drum, even if it is hard rock heavy metal whatever!!:poke:
Like I say, I enjoy just tooling down these rural roads in my old Mopar that does everything like a 50 years old car does!!!!
If I really wanted to go hard around corners for a few $$ I could buy a decent Vette! I know...Blasphemy!!!!!!

Sure hope you haven't bought into the "coil over and rack only" line that the GM crowd spits out all the time. An old Camaro absolutely needs a modern suspension, Mopars do not. The TB suspension can be upgraded to work well, my Duster drove just like my Challenger did even before I added PS.

I will concede that it makes headers easier, but it'd not an absolute need.

On the other hand, I have recently learned that if you want to run a TR6060 without swapping the input shaft and main plate and buying an aftermarket bellhousing and clutch, you need a coil over conversion front end. The passenger side starter on the Mopar TR6060 doesn't allow for steering the car with the stock steering.

Plenty of threads to read on the "discussion" of COC's vs. upgrade TB's so no need to go there. Only want to point out that sometimes people see the other guys being forced to swap and assume Mopars need the same. The reality is their suspension designs suck and result in more of a need for "modern" suspensions, while our suspension design is actually pretty good and just needs some updates to go along with the modern tires available now.

Gerst Suspension is in your neck of the woods, but I don't know if Carl offers an Early A setup. If I were putting one in MY 65 Barracuda, it would be HDK....all the way! @HemiDenny :poke:

Carl had a early A front & rear setup but Gerst is now sold by QA1

Gerst shows one on their website, but when I called to inquire about it, I could sense a "deer in headlights" look through the phone...
