Early 60s belvedere. 361 three on the tree, manual brakes/steering. Runs n drives. Friend is asking 6K. I've driven the car and its rust free, but....very oddball, moredoor, and has the "throwaway BB"

WWFD (what would FABO do?)

If it's original, I'd drive it and leave it alone.
It looks pretty nice.

It's a toad on steroids! I like it, "small" BB or not. And three-on-the-tree to boot!

It has power, not manual brakes, but I say get it and drive it. It's a 62 model, btw. Very cool.

oh by lawdy it does.....its been a couple months since I drove it. I do believe it pulled one way a bit. meh, I can fix brakes.

Meh that's the nature of drums. Just be ready for it. lol

Nice car. I’d get it and drive it everywhere. Not a fan of the shifter on the tree though. It would still stay there.

IF! One should decide to “Improve” the 361, it would or at least very well could perform better than a 360 since the big block parts are a weeeeeeeee bit better than the small block parts. It already has a generous bore size that could accept a increased valve size. To what, I’m not sure, but, IIRC, It’s bore is a 4.120/4.125? With that 3.38 stroke, it’ll run like a big bore 340. Then with its increased valve size…. Ummmmmmmm

Day dreaming away I am!

I have a space issue unfortunately that Im sure none of you can relate to so I wont bring that up. I am proud of the fact that in my older age I am taking on no more projects! It HAS to run! That will leave me with the 69 mach and the 34 coupe. done! Just like I said I'd never get another dog. Thanks for the input. I know that I could find one for cheaper, but getting a nice runner for 5-7K that is nice and original, seems like its worth not doing all the bodywork on one thats 3-4K. I am leaning toward getting it though. I think he can put me on the payment plan, more for me making room than weather I could cough it up.

I buy that thing is a New York second and drive it every day. Snatch that up. The 4 doors don’t bother me on that body style and the 3 on the tree makes it.

Yup. Time to bring it home.

Since you are ok with the price, I would buy it. Super clean, oddball mopar:361, 3 on the tree and power drums.

I would buy it at $4k and then immediately put a front disc kit,4bbl and headers and drive the wheels off of it.

I'd buy it at 6 and leave it alone.

Im not a fan of 4 wheel drums in traffic with modern cars/traffic. Too much fade with constant heavy braking.
The key is not to tailgate, shouldn't need to heavy brake.
Power drums with quality parts can be very reliable, they have been long before disks came along.

I've got a big block 62, but its modified more than I like. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
(But I'd swap in a 400 stroker, make it look as much as possible like the 361,and a five speed, and drive the wheels off it.)

62. So ugly they look great. Can’t tell if they are going backwards or forward. Sure looks to be in nice shape. Excellent cruiser. It will get looks.
