My 1972 F7 Dart Swinger

What kind of a timeline did the painter give you?
Well… I was there today and he had it all sanded. He was planning to shoot it early next week. Then I get a text from his wife saying he was in an accident tonight. So, now. Not sure. Hopeful for a speedy recovery for him

Painter is still recovering from his wreck. So, taking the time to finish up things like the rear tail lights. Lots of rust in two of the bulb sockets. Soaked in evaporust, glass blasted the housings. Painted the back sides with Epoxy black and chrome painted the light bowls. Re-wired the assemblies, installed new bulbs, re-wrapped the loom and now they're ready to back into the bumper assembly.

I see you went with a different set of scoop badges (just "318" like the 340 ones. Where did you score those???

Working with @Dana67Dart on these. These are plastic 3D prints of his drawings. I will send off to have some metal ones made next. I still have the 318/Four Barrell emblems in metal as well. I'm just trying to get the best looking option. After seeing just the plain old 318, I think I like them better

If you get ready to order metal ones and I can piggy back on your order send me a PM and I'll get 2 sets. Are you getting them made in Stainless steel? Dana responded to a pm. He said that you painted the badge black, sanded the face, polished the face and then clear coated. Is that correct? Do you have any interest in doing mine when you do yours if I pay you to do them?

Just spotted your build, nice work keeper going you'll get there. There might be some detail, I tried to include as much as possible, on my 72 build that I finished a few years back that might be helpful. I even posted my canister refurb with the materials I purchased, I was able to recharge it from the bottom without opening it. Good luck, Danny

Very cool build you've done. I've read about the 72 340 Canadian Specials in the past. Very cool that you've got one! My resto isn't quite on your level but I'm doing the best I can and making some slight alterations.

Painter is getting started on color in the coming weeks and I'm excited to continue moving the bar forward.

I would love to send my carb off to Harms but last I checked in with him, work had all but stopped for him while issues with his parts suppliers and platers are being sorted out.

I’m sure the paint will look great, sucks that Scott at Harms is having trouble getting parts he does super nice work at a very reasonable price. If there is any questions you might have or pictures I could provide feel free to ask, I’m not on here as much as I used to be so it might take a little bit for me to respond.

Not much to update. Carb packed and sent off to Woodruff. Door Panels ordered from Legendary over black friday. Chrome vent window bits dropped off at a local shop for rechrome. Drawings of 318 emblems by @Dana67Dart were sent out a while back to be 3D printed in 316L Stainless. Emblems were delivered today. Still need to be painted and surface polished but here are the unprocessed pieces

I also worked on the 318 emblems last weekend. I need to paint the black details yet but I spent several hours sanding the surface level then polishing back.

Your carb looks amazing ! They did a really nice job, what was the turn around time?

When is your Dart's birthday? My 72 F7 is going to be 51 January 8th.

Yours is going to look much better than mine though!

It sure did! Green paint, green top, green interior

I’m leaving the vinyl top off and converting the interior to black
Mine had the F8 vinyl top and F8 paint in the interior. I'm thinking about painting my vinyl top area F8. I still have the vinyl top trim installed.
Are you leaving any green paint in the interior and doing black carpet and seats? I saw the steering column case was painted green.

I am leaving the dash and column green but the rest will be black. I’m doing the non-deluxe seat covers and door panels in black and going with black carpeting
