Any value in 198’s?

The exhaust manifold is probably worth $100 since they crack, especially if the washers aren't correct and oriented properly. New ones cost >$200. If it has the inner pulley on the crank damper (large center hole to fit over timing cover snout), used on AC cars, that should be valuable to someone adding AC (I needed one).

Thanks!

It's all gone now. Went to someone that (hopefully) can use the parts.

The casting numbers and date codes indicate that this engine was created July 13, 1965. It is a 225 and most likely it was installed into a D100 with a manual transmission. It has been rebuilt at least once with a .060 overbore. The engine had a bad carburetor with all of the plugs black and sooty. The oil rings were "stuck" and it mostly likely smoked. Somebody performed a recent tune up.

To know more, I would have to mount it onto an engine stand and tear it done more, and I dont have time to do that now. But I suspect that the head gasket failed. It is a the steel one and there is no coating on the surface.

Thanks for the update!

Is 0.060 the max overbore for a 225?

Iron slant blocks are routeenly over bored .100 that is typically not to pick up a few cubic inches, but to use some specific pistons.
The best way to know how big you can go is to pay your selected machine shop to sonic test the cylinder walls of the block.
