Black Friday deals .

Nice to see speedmaster hasn't raised the prices.. 699 for a loaded set of small block heads.. used to be 704 on Black Friday... Seeing a guy Saturday trying to sell a set for 900 at the swap meet...

I know bare heads went up from a couple years ago. I didn’t buy anything last year. Used to be 219.00

Is the loaded set worth it over the bare, then building yourself?

Without question.. I know people like to buy them bear and put their quality parts in them but quite honestly I've found in my hot rod at least the quality has been just fine.. you'll find the only people that talk bad about them probably don't have them...

Also when checked they did check out at 145 lb closed and 345 at .500 ... Pretty much as advertised... Which is good for your most performance cams maybe not all out drag only application but 90% of the stuff you'll see on the forum..

I’m thinking about pulling the trigger for my 383 Swinger build. I could do PayPal credit and pay them off in 6 months no interest, it’s just over $900 for the BB fully assembled.

I’m having my usual “buy one, get one” sale all through the festive holiday season. Coupled with my famous “buy even if you don’t need it” sale, and it’s a win/win! Ho Ho Ho, Merry X-mas!

I’m going to get two bare heads and two complete. 2.055 valves planned for the bare set.

Just make sure you check to make sure you get the right big block heads. Pretty sure all they sell now are the Victor copy’s

Now careful with those big block heads.. I don't know if Big blocks very well but these are not the factory replicas in aluminum but I believe in more high performance head that may need special rockers and things... Hopefully someone more versed in Big block will chime in. My experience is only been with the small block heads...

The 440 Source stealth head is probably a better choice for a low cost performance head

Would you mind checking the link I posted above in my reply to @pittsburghracer

I was under the impression that these are eddy rpm knockoffs.

If you could see the chamber or intake pad it’s a dead giveaway. I’m not going to say I’m positive but I would call.

Those are Victor copy heads, and will need .650 offset intake rockers. You will have the choice of speedmaster rockers for about $300, Hughes rockers for $900, HS for about$1300, or T&D for $2000.
I’ll just assume the SM rockers are garbage too.

Something is telling me to buy the small block heads and hoard them for the future.

I got the loaded CNC set for my 340 last year, I don’t notice much difference than I had with my X-heads but I have had 0 problems with them. Thinking of getting another set as well.

I knew a good man on here, who also raced many cars, he had multiple sets of all the SM parts and ran the piss out of them with no problems.
