In the instructions for the Schumacher biscuit mount mod, it mentions welding a reinforcement plate into the mounting area that has to be cut out. See below.

Has anyone done that, and does anyone have a photo of what that would look like?

Thanks! That's a good looking job, do you remember what gauge steel you used? (if not, I will gauge it eventually). I've got some 16 ga but wonder if that is thick enough.
16 is plenty, that will work perfectly
 
I'm glad I kept this old k-frame because I cut my mounts and modified my 70 dart k-frame.
I need to bolt my engine to it so I can get my 470 lined up to mount my front and mid plates.
 
i welded the whole k member up besides the mount mod , and welded in the reinforcements from firmfeel
