What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
Little stuff but a big day.

Figured out the shift cable issue. The retaining spring was not in the proper slot so the rooster comb was fully forward into the Reverse position.

It required draining the transmission again and dropping the pan, but having visual confirmation of proper connection and gear detents was worth the cost of fluid.

Modified the aftermarket, deep pan to allow removal of the parking pawl housing by itself (matches the OEM contours).

No test drive yet, but the transmission properly responds to pushbutton.

Pick up another couple of quarts of ATF tomorrow and take an initial test drive.

While the bumpers are off the car I decided to pull the grille assembly out for a good cleaning and detailing. Hard to believe how much bug crap builds up in the cracks and crevices. Funny how one little project snowballs into another and another......... Keeps me busy that's for sure!!!

I replaced the front doors window channel window run today. While browsing through old threads I saw a part number for the window run and ordered some. I did the windlace and cat wiskers several years ago.

I learned all I need to know about window regulators now!! But they needed greased badly so I'm glad I did it now. Pictures are reverse order.

I installed a 8 3/4 rear-end assembly, and new leaf springs. Started on mock up for some electric exhaust cutouts. Had to do some modification.

Continuing clean up and repair from an engine fire over the summer. Down for the count at the moment after surgery last week then hoping to finish before spring.

The correct headlights for the new bumper came this afternoon and just like that my 2013 Challenger looks a little like a 2022 Hellcat

While under the car I noticed the back side of the header panel and valance WERE NOT PAINTED? Supposedly the guy who built the car paid $25k to have the car painted and they didn't paint it all? I removed both pieces scuffed , cleaned , primed and painted this weekend. I reinstalled them along with the polished grill pieces and then put the bumpers back (I painted the backsides of them as well) Waiting on the new center grilles and bezels today to complete the front end.

Last night was to finally install the new inner grilles and surrounds ordered from PG Classics , the new parking light bezels and hardware ordered from Layson's. The old inner grilles were chrome finished on the edges and the new ones are solid black. I decided to use the new ones for now until I decide which I liked better.
