A different perspective on "THE BLACK GHOST" by UTG.

A number matching Plymouth superbird with the hemi sold for $550,000. The Camaro's and mustang's seem to bring the big money.

In my town (less than a 1000 ppl), there is a '80 D150 Long Bed. It stays hidden in the trees, but once in a while, she pulls out of it's "unknown" place and takes the local car community by surprise, all 3 of them! They look from behind corners as this "Ghost" truck appears, all fear for their pride and won't step near their Neon or Civic. But the 3rd guy, he has a Mustang GT, yeah, even he won't go near and be ghosted by the D150.

Do I have a 50k offer ????

:D

That is funny

Uncle Tony said car looked "roachy" and he thinks speedometer rolled over? But its an original paint car? But other info out there says various ppl still alive remember the car's street racing back in the day? Who knows but its a cool car, high option Hemi Challenger, orig paint, 4 spd, with a story behind it, and now some fat cat deep pockets person owns it. I bet the new owner is happy with the car probably gets a lot of joy owning it my guess. Some high roller pays big bucks for a cool Hemi Challenger yeah lucky person to be able to afford to do that.

Is Uncle Tony related to Uncle Buck?

No but I am.

Wait, isn’t he from Canada? Nothing against that but isn’t that crossing country lines since we’re talking about an American here and your bringing in a fella from Canada….

Oh oh! Political non sense here!

I call shenanigans!!!

I agree this thread really isn't about the cars value but more about peoples distaste for UT.
Nah only half the thread is...LOL! the price of the hemi E body is a no brainer, and to include what Tony says as credible info is well ... bunk. This is why the thread ended up there.

Post #25 in the link below the new owner of Black Ghost said he bought the car to take to local cars and coffee and to get it out there for others to see. He doesn't care is the legend true or not he liked the car was able to afford it and bought it:

Black Ghost - Hemi Challenger - Page 3 - The Supercar Registry
1 million is just a number to some folks and hey, its a hemi car right? how often does the average guy see a hemi car except maybe at a car show?

Which is more rare a hemi car of any flavor or a camaro or mustang...? Thats what drives the price if camaros and Mustangs are bringing big money they would have to be an example of a rare camaro or mustang why? becasuse they made a hell of alot of camaros and Mustangs, there isnt a hell of alot of hemi cars. This is basic supply and demand stuff. A Mustang would sell for big bucks in a place where they arent readily available like in another remote country in the world there,it would be a rare car.

Jim Morrisons Mustang GT 500 was never found, I wonder if someone discovered it stored away somewhere, what that car would be worth today

I wish i could convert my car to 4-5-6 speed.. but i'm lazy and don't wanna :) Black is too hard to keep clean... switched my old black grand cherokee to a white one.. never lookin back
This is a true story, back when I lived in town me and a friend were sitting on a porch checking out cars going by, hey its what we did in the 80s as kids, anyway this black van cruises by i say "now that's cool..." My friend says "yeah but black is a ***** to keep clean..." just as some black guy was strutting past..it was an awkward "now what's going to happen " moment...:)

All I can get out of all this is, my $2000 '75 Hornet will never rate like the Black Ghost, all my cars with frame connectors will never carry UT stamp of approval, and '70 Boss Mustangs are worth more than most Hemi cars????? Did I miss anything?? :BangHead:
 :poke:

Does he say you shouldn't have frame connectors?

Well, we sorta got onto Morrisons Mustang, but then...as far as the Barris Cuda, well that was the thing back in the day. I recently saw a 68 Dart with a 70s "Doilie" paint job, the wife thought it ugly, I saw it as a survivor from back in the day when they did those custom paint jobs. Anyway IMO, as far as Tony is concerned, he's a Carnival barker is all...that's about his skill level. He's getting way more credit than he deserves by the automotive un- informed.

I'd be afraid to think what it would be worth. But it wouldn't surprise me if it brought high 6 figures.

i LOVE lace paintjobs and stuff like that.. sadly a 62 has no good panels for that

The irony is some YouTube mechanical hack (UT) talking about "story telling" when literally, that's what he has been his entire life. A story teller, who now has a low IQ YouTube following so he can tell stories to slobbering retards who also cant work on cars.

I seen that car at Mecum last Thursday and it blew me away with a hitch bolted to the back. That car needs a hell of a lot of work and way over priced but what I want to know is, what was he pulling with that E-body Hemi?

I agree . He shouldn't be mentioning scam other than to say he's upset that he didn't think of it first with one of his junkers... but I said it before he's not an authority or expert on Hemi Mopars or any Higher end original cars he's a bottom feeder as is his viewership. i know that doesn't sound nice but there is no way of sugar coating it. People who like him can get offended or maybe rethink what they are wasting their time watching.
