I have a question about windshield trim for my 67 Dart. The original lock strips had been removed in the past when the car was painted and never replaced. I was able to get the original type lock strip but because of the age of the seal I couldn't install the lock strip without it cracking. So Classic Industries sells the 68-76 windshield trim and they say you need to use the clips I pictured below. My question is will this work with my windshield seal or will I need to switch to a 68-76 windshield seal?

You're going to need to switch to the 68-76 gasket in order to use the windshield trim Classic Industries sells.

So you're gonna risk breaking your windshield pulling it out, add trim clips, a new rubber gasket, reinstall windshield and the funds for new stainless trim vs just popping in a new lock strip trim?

I did the same thing, on our 67 barracuda. Waiting to do the rear.
You will need a new ws gasket, chk Precision Parts for that.
Repop front ws trim is available from AMD.
Classic Industries will gouge you every which way but loose.
@RPM440+6 is a great FABO member and vendor. He may be able to sell you the proper trim and gasket.

No risk in breaking windshield if you cut the old seal which is cracking. 68 Trim and gasket looks much better IMO.

Detroit muscle sells lock strip and seals. I am in the middle of installing mine. 1967
or Precision

What is cracking? The lockstrip(mylar)? Or the ws gasket? Be like Johnny Wadd and pour the lube to her.
Like I showed in the link I provided, but OP not interested I guess. Let me know how the glass re and re goes....

I've R&R'd multiple windshields and rear windows, using both new and old gaskets, time consuming but not difficult.
Most recently on my 58 Coronet, complex curves, both front and rear.
Spray bottle with soapy water, plastic scrapers, strong thin rope, patience.

I did notice when I did my 62 windshield the FSM stated to install top first, which was near impossible.
Did it bottom first, out of necessity, and it went in under 30 minutes.

It was new. I'm probably going to end up removing the windshield and go with a new seal
You may want to soak it in a bucket of hot water to soften it. Squirt dishwasher detergent in the groove to make it slippery so it's easier to install. Remember, if it's an old windshield gasket, it will be stiff too.

The lockstrip. The older seal is stiff making it difficult install. Tried using soapy water but didn't help.
Did you even look at the link I posted to help you save a lot of grief and unnecessary expense?? As Steve noted and I showed, you need some silicon gel or K Y to make it easily pop in...

I don't need accolades, but 99% of the time I'll give a "like/thanks" to at least let people know I've acknowledged their efforts.....

Yep, one thing that definitely differentiates FABO from FBBO... the guys on FBBO for the most part at least acknowledge and some times even appreciate the advice of those that have gone before them. I'm about done helping here on A bodies...
