Looking at tachs... crazy that you can get a 5" tach with shift light and recall for under $50... and i'm sure great quality :)

i was looking at them.. their digital tach is nice and small and has a bright shift light.. just thinking bout how to mount in a 62... kills me seeing people screwing through their dash pads

I should have saved the photo of one I saw in a early B console. The PO of my 64 put a stereo switch panel in mine. I might take the stereo out. The sub woofer box takes up half the trunk. :BangHead: :BangHead:

i wasn't going to add one but i want a shift light so i don't get too stupid :) What i hate is my wiring harness has never had a single splice/cut in 63 years.. hate to cut into it now. i can use a cig lighter adapter for power :)

the 62 is half pad and half metal.. i'm gonna think bout it when i get home. I might get one of those small digital ones.. i don't look at a tach when driving anyway.. just want it to check stuff and the shift light to help stop my parts from exiting the car :) If i were smart i would add a rev limiter but that's just too much safety :)
 
You can make a bracket that slips under the dash pad to hold a tach. The wiring can just be routed into the engine compartment and not cut anything.

that's a 62... guys make a bracket to slide under the pad which might be the way... not in a rush.. something down the road. plenty to do for now :)

Hi guys The search is on for my build sheet in my recently aquired loaded 67 New Yorker, not under back seat, possibly under carpet..........well today when i removed the front bumper i found located between the bumper bracket and frame rail one both sides, what appears to be 2 build sheets. See...
