It is and it isnt at the same time. He is physically 12 but high functioning on the spectrum and as such is a bit delayed so think 9-10 years old mind wise. He does get frustrated on things rather quickly and he complains a LOT about most everything and everyone. He has no "filter". If it pops into his head, out of the mouth it comes. I try to blow it off, and just tell him to go in the house and leave it all there, then come back outside. Not in my shop with that crap. But on weekends when my wife is at work, it kinda sorta gives him something to do with me. Boredom is a big thing with him. He cannot seem to entertain himself.its great to have your kid helping
mine got into it about 7 months ago at 12
now he wants to get all my junk running
50 dodge first ,then onto the austin healy ,
66 dart...it never ends ,60hrs a week working on cars for the day job isn't enough
According to KBs chart based on my bore of 3.940" the top ring needs to be at minimum. 026" gap. Mine are all at .018". So yep, I need to open them all up a little bit. Since I didnt have one, I bought a manual ring grinder off evilbay. They stated the #2 compression ring was not as critical.I like your system you have laid out there. Did you have to open the gaps up much for the KB pistons? Gapping rings can be a pretty time-consuming task, and better done with no distractions like you said you did it. I finally got a fine grit fishhook sharpener to use to debur the ends of the rings after filing the gap.
Thank you. He is a good kid, and I am teaching him as we go.I applaud you on your skill and generosity! Patience too?![]()
Eventually it will be completely unFucked. But this takes time.Ha that's more work then my ground up restro on the shop truck
