I would think if the 1/8 drops, the 1/4 will too. Should be fun!I think your 1/8 mile mph will show 12.3 1/4
but you will be all tached out before the 1/4 mile

235/60R15 tire. It's 26.1" I believeIf you got 28" tires, 3.91 @ 5,000 rpm = 107 mph, 3.91 @ 5,500 rpm = 117 mph, + some converter slip.
@ 5,500 109 mph + some slip235/60R15 tire. It's 26.1" I believe
This engine isn't going to push this car 109 in the 1320, so I think I'll be ok. Speed before was 104-105 mph.@ 5,500 109 mph + some slip
in other words, out of motor.you will be all tached out before the 1/4 mile
My tach goes to 8 grand, so I shouldn't be tached out.... lol. I knew what he meant, old school talkin other words, out of motor.
If you are all tached out short of the stripe 1/4 et will suffer but 1/8 mile will ripThis engine isn't going to push this car 109 in the 1320, so I think I'll be ok. Speed before was 104-105 mph.
out of rpm that 340 was screaming for dear life lolin other words, out of motor.
If I do run out of motor, it won't be till the last 100-200 ft and the ET won't change that much after that anyways. If I can run quicker in 1100-1200 ft, the 1320 time will drop as well. But we'll see. I've went from 4.30's to 3.91's before in a car and the MPH and ET was the exact same. So maybe the car wont' change or even be hurt a little. We'll find out.If you are all tached out short of the stripe 1/4 et will suffer but 1/8 mile will rip
just tells you need more cam
I had a friend he had the fastest stock 340 ive ever seen 80k miles
put 4.10s in from 3.23s prolly 26 tall tire
0 to 100 it was quick but he was out of rpm before the 1/4 watched him lose a race to a 440 road runner at the stripe he was ahead by 4 cars
blipping the gas on and off to get to the stripe
I passed guys like your buddy many times, most were driving Chevies though. lolto 100 it was quick but he was out of rpm before the 1/4 watched him lose a race to a 440 road runner at the stripe he was ahead by 4 cars
100% agree. I do not expect any more MPH than the 104/105 that it ran consistently before. I do expect a better 60 ft and better 1/8, which in my opinion will give a better 1/4.If the converter picked up a tenth or so in 60 youll see two (ish) tenths down track. I think it’ll pick up slightly. But not any more mph.
My first hydraulic cammed 383 with 4.57 gears was like that, sounded extremely ill at the stripe.out of rpm that 340 was screaming for dear life lol
It’ll be fiiiiinnnne. I’m about ready to spray mine with 100 shot on a mechanical (edlebrock) pump and a stock 5/16” fuel line.Oh, I'm still running the factory 5/16 fuel line and mechanical fuel pump
Hope to not run out of fuel! (haven't yet)
I depends entirely on if it hooks or not. On true street tires, I'd bet it won't.100% agree. I do not expect any more MPH than the 104/105 that it ran consistently before. I do expect a better 60 ft and better 1/8, which in my opinion will give a better 1/4.
My 60 fts were consistent 1.83 - 1.84. That was with an open rear end. No spinning. My tires are MT ET StreetsI depends entirely on if it hooks or not. On true street tires, I'd bet it won't.
Between more gear and more converter, I'll bet you have 100 ft/lbs and 100hp more than before, at the hit.
IF it hooks, I'd expect 3-5 tenths in the quarter, and maybe one mph faster.
What was your 60 on the 12.8 pass?
I am another who changed from 4.56 to 3.91, and saw no change. Also changed shift point on my 440 from 6200 to 5900, and went quicker.
(Weak-*** 906 heads. Ootb small chevy heads will outflow em by 50+ cfm)
Et streets are a different kettle of fish! Bias or radials? My 60 fts were consistent 1.83 - 1.84. That was with an open rear end. No spinning. My tires are MT ET Streets
