What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

I took a pair of Dana 60 carrier bearing and honed them out .0025". Now they slip on and off the spool with ease.

No telling how many times it will have to come apart to get the correct shim stack on and I sure don't want to be pulling bearings on and off an aluminum spool multiple times

and effect the .0005" press fit.

I did that for my 742 pinion... soo nice to just slide it on and off when finding the right shims

Going through hell, scraping, bleeding, cutting my arms and hands. Contorting my back, straining my muscles. Taking out my 70 340 Swinger Rallye Dash to put in 67fish383S 's IVR conversion (thanks Dennis). Might as well put in LED bulbs, check connections, install extra grounding wires. Not the first time I've had it out, but it seemed a lot easier 20 years ago when I was 50! :(
P.S. Thanks for all the tips FABO.

That's because it WAS easier when you were still a youngster (at 50, LOL). I'll be 75 in November, and not only did everything used to be physically easier, but I used to be mentally sharper, too. Just be thankful you can still do it even it it's harder and takes longer.

I guess that's what you call light weight
A lot of euro cars use alloy bolts
Might look at 2006 328 bmw pan bolt set think its around 40 cent a bolt
You just have to go metric

Met up with a couple of Twisted Axle Car Club members, at the old Walter P. Chrysler museum, before we headed over to the Michigan Mopar Muscle car club's annual show at The HUB in Auburn Hills, MI (a stone's throw way from the Chrysler Tech Center).

I have a bunch of SAE aluminum bolts in the car. There's really cheap, by the box full. 1/4 and 5/16 were about 10-cents apiece.

That's a great show! Used to go every year when I lived there.

No more racing for a couple months so I pulled the avatar out of the trailer and swapped it back over for street use. Don't want it to just sit you know. So street tires and mufflers installed and hopefully take it to a local show this Saturday. We'll leave the show pony 71 Demon at home (or the wife says we may take both!).

The black '63 440 is my best friend, of 55+ years, car. Currently a 383, pushbutton auto, PS, PB, (dealer installed) A/C car. He's got some big engine plans for it.

Well, here’s an update on the Barracuda last weekend installed AM/FM factory radio and sounds terrible. Since I had the splash shield off, I put the commando badge on. When I put the radio in, I found out that the air fuel ratio Gauge stopped working found out fuse dead. What fun?

Since we didn't go racing, drove the avatar to a weekly cruise on Sat afternoon as it had rained in the morning. My wife didn't bring her license or she would have driven it home. Had to make a fuel stop for some "smiles per gallon," but other than that, this little car is just a fun ride. It doesn't seem to care whether you drive it at the track or on the street. Hope it stays that way. Good times!

Any time I work on the dash/instrument panel like that, I take out the driver's bucket seat. It makes working under the dash SO MUCH EASIER!

Ordered a vent/overflow tank for my ATI Turbo-400. Oversite that kept me from making my first pass, yesterday. DUH

I finished off the 2025 race season which was the best season ever for me! I got my street car down to a 12.87 @ 106, and got my new race car to an 11.28 @ 118 on a partial pass on the only time i was able to get it out.
The best part was yesterday though, i got both my son and daughter out driving my street car. They were able to make 3 passes each. Both told me it was no where near as easy as it looks!
