Still needs to be body worked, but it looks just as shitty as the rest of the car right now. .

I have the biggest bottle for the big Miller welder. This was for the small Lincoln for sheet metal. My weld supply has an outside tank area. Call on a weekend, they will give you the code and charge your account. Good people like that!
Whoa, that's cool.

Havent been feeling great, and working in pther projects as I feel up to it. I dod put kn the roll over valve breather and coiled line which now pokes through the rear taillight panel. Need to find a good spot for the battery. I would like it up front.

Researching how to properly size a parachute. Speed and car weight, but I am not stopping from 200 in a 1/8mile. I have closer to 5-7miles if necessary. Waiting on a call from Stroud

The chute is for when you need it. I hope that time never comes.

Big and long. (That’s what she said) that’s how you size parachutes for bonneville. Brakes on the salt should be an afterthought, as in think of the brakes after the chutes are out.

Not on the salt, or the lake bed. The chutes are the primary way of slowing the car and keeping it straight while doing so. They are absolutely the first method of braking.

I do know brakes, especially good brakes, can be very dangerous. Chute and use brakes 2nd. Have chute out and still under power until it is in full bloom. I think a Stroud 430-32 will be the pick, but we will see.

Eric, you may try calling Simpson as well. They are a good resource. And have been helpful to us in the past.

It would be cool to have chutes with custom Chrysler pentastars on them. Is there budget for custom stuff?

I am not 100% what this will run. See what the $$$ of recommendations are.

If i did the 150 Club for first outing, I dont even need one. If timed only or CGALT, then I do

Sorry to hear you're not feeling that well yet. Still recovering from the operation?

Well, I finished the modifications to the battery box, painted it and welded it in

Then got the throttle cable run and connected to the gas pedal. I need a morse cable bracket for the pedal side, will be here in the AM. I definitely feel like I have been working.

Very nice, don’t wear yourself out and keep eatin that elephant.

So, I started making a separate reverse lever. It will have a guide and lock out pin per the rules. Works well so far. Simple push/pull. Not a great pic, but you get the jist.

Also, the throttle pedal is connected and bracket is installed. Some minor clearancing at the pedal for the heim joint.

Made up a driveshaft safety loop today after 200m cruise in the Demon. Waiting to hear from the inspector to have the green light. Rules say 1/4x1 plate. This is 1x1x.125 which i think is stronger. But need his approval

Update...Doctors follow up appt is tomorrow. We will decide how recovery is going and if/when surgery on the right side will happen.

Spent a little time on the fuel line protection. Rules say fuel line needs to be protected with heavy tubing in the plane of the clutch.

Tomorrow evening also meeting another local salt racer. Will be nice to know another.

Made it to my doctor's appointment. We will see what is happening next..

All checked out good and as expected for being so close to surgery (6 weeks out) so now just waiting for the phone call to schedule the other side.
