Well Hi!
Nice to hear from ya.
Drop me an email and let me know how things are.

Bruce, That is the link that DemonDave posted earlier, or at least the item number.

Yup, that's the legit 70 GT I tried linking to. Car is still for sale locally, owner is Ian at 613-913-8843. I sent the breakdown of the fender tag to Bruce about a month or so ago. The codes check out for the GT package.

OK then,
I cannot find any info received from you.
What email did you send it to me under?
Let me know so I can get this straightend out in the Registry records.

Just wanted to touch base with everyone. I am still alive and kickin'. I have a new Phone number (Thanks to all that have helped me in this lousy time for me! Bless You!). Please email me and I will send it to you. I have no long distance service on it so you will need to call me. Also, I will try to get in the FABO chat room in the evenings and you can add me on Yahoo: dartgtreg7071@yahoo.com.

Later,
Bruce B.

OK then,

I think I now have the Registry up to date. Please check for me and let me know if I have missed anyone or any part of your registration.

Later,
Bruce B.

Well.....
Been a while since I have posted to this thread.
We have had a couple of new 70-71 GT's registered this year but otherwise pretty slow.
I did add a spreadsheet listing all the GT's that have been registered.... kinda cool if I say so myself.

Drop by and give us a read! http://www.7071dartgt.net

Later,
Bruce B.

OK,
For those of us FABO members that own 1970-71 Dart GTs or Custom's and 1970 Dart GTS's:
I am now adding the option to list the link to your cars FABO restoration thread.
IF you would like this added to your Registry listing please email me and let me know. Please include your FABO link too!

Later,
Bruce B.

None that I'm aware of. I saved a bunch of information off of Bruce's website before it went away, but I don't think the registry has been kept up since then.

WOULD YOU KNOW IF THERE IS A REGISTRY FOR OLDER DART GT'S? I HAVE A 1968 DODGE DART GT.

There's a GTS registry, but I don't think they include the GT.

OK... gonna give it a shot here,
In answer to all the above questions:
Dart GT's WERE made in 1970-1971 as an Option Package (A65) on 2 door Hardtop Dart Customs (NOT on Swingers as some have commented in the mopar world). The Option Package got you the Dart GT Emblems (1969 Emblems were used on the 1970 GT's and the 1971 GT's had Dart GT Emblems of a 1 year only style). No GT Emblems on the inside Doors like the 1969 (but I added them to mine). ALL had Bucket Seats (using the 1970 340 Swinger pleat pattern on the 1970's Seats AND Door Panels and standard 1971 Dart Swinger pattern on the 1971's). Few had Consoles. You got the Dart Custom "Woodgrain" Dash treatment with a DART Custom Emblem on the Glove Box door - but sadly NO Rallye Dashes! The Rear Ends and Leaf Springs came in every combo you could get with no ryme or reason it seems. You got HD Brakes - Drum or Kelsey-Hayes Disc, power or not. All came with Power Steering. You got 340 Torsion Bars on all 1970's that I have checked so far - Slant Six or 318. Front Sway Bar sometimes. You had 2 engine choices: 225 ci 1-bbl Slant Six or 318 ci 2-bbl. You could get any Transmission except 4 speed. Oh yeah: NO Hood Scoops or Tailstripe from the FACTORY, but some added by dealerships.

Hello guys,

just found this thread and I have one question - maybe someone can give me an answer.

I have a 1970 Dodge Dart GT as you can see in my garage. It has the 318 C.i. 2bbl, 904TF, front sway bar, buckets, Console, 8 3/4 with 323. And it has HD Drum Brakes (not powered). But then Bruce wrote "All came with Power Steering" - but mine is a manual steering car since factory (also not fast manual steering!). It was an export car for Canada. The steering wasn't converted from Power Steering to manual steering when I look at all the parts...

Someone may have an answer for this?

Thanks in Advance!

Any idea how many 1970 dart gt were made and sent to the states?I have one that is identicle to yours but mine has power steering. Not much info out there.

I think I'm number 38 on Bruce's Registry.

I didn't research the '70 Dart GT like I did the '71 Dart GT (because I own a '71 Dart GT). When I contacted Chrysler Historical the gentleman I spoke with told me there was a fire that destroyed most (all) of their records. He did say that in 1971 Chrysler produced ~96,*** Darts and that ~1.3% of them were GT models. Also, every '71 Dart GT will have A65 on the fender tag.

My car was factory equipped with a 318, console shifted A904 transmission (with bucket seats), PS (Federal PS pump), manual HD Drums front & rear, A/C, 3.23:1 sure-grip 8 3/4" rear-end, and a Rim-Blo steering wheel.

I added the '70 Rallye Wheels (14" X 5 1/2" small bolt pattern), '70 style hood scoops, Mopar Performance electronic ignition, AutoMeter Z-Series gauges (water, volts, oil pressure and tachometer), Grant GT steering wheel (Rim-Blo awaiting restoration), SSBC front disc brakes, Edelbrock LD4B intake, Edelbrock 1406 600 cfm carb, Lokar throttle & kickdown cables, SummitRacing double roller timing chain & gears, A1-Cardone 8-vane water pump, and 2 1/4" dual exhaust (factory manifolds to FlowMaster 40s).

Future plans (wish list) will include removing the vinyl top & body side molding. Adding the V21 style hood, cowl, scoops paint treatment and bumble bee rear stripe (all gloss black). Possibly a mini tub with 15" X ?" rear Rallye Wheels. Maybe a color change (I've always liked Yellow (Top Banana)) etc.....
