Victoria BC members

-
Well first off, I would start a new thread with this idea, there are more Canadian members on here than one would think. Also maybe go to car shows and when you're ready to try starting it, leave a flyer in any Mopars you see, with your phone number or email or something to explain details. Just a thought.

Thanks!
Hope to meet you someday in person.
I want to drive to the Island with the Demon.
I have relatives there.
As well my Demon is originally from Winnipeg and needs to smell some salt water once in it's life!
Any good Mopar shows there?
May stop by and visit you.

It would be a pleasure to meet you too sir.
There are a couple Mopar shows at Chrysler dealerships, and there used to be a pretty good one in Victoria at Beaver Lake, but the people putting it on have now stopped, but it would be awesome if someone put one on again, there was always a good turnout.
Mike

I guess the 1st step would be to find a spot.
As i live in the West Kootenays,i suppose that is a fairly Central area being half way between Vancouver and Calgary.
As well as North/South from Prince George to the States.
Any ideas as to the best way to contact more people?

I would start by contacting all the Pacific-Northwest (Washington state) "MoparsUnlimited" clubs and the one in Vancouver as well. There are 4 or 5, I think. The US guys would certainly travel up here if the show was good.

That show was started by the "WPC" club in Victoria some years ago, then was taken over by the "Island Mopars" who then went "T*ts Up" back a couple of years. Maybe WPC will do it again.

The best (biggest) Mopar show I've been to more or less locally is Mopar Madness in Langley every July.

That's right, I don't know how I forgot about that one, though I've never been, I hear its really good.
Next time you go Rob maybe I'll catch a ride with you guys?

The Seattle Mopar show held in May used to be good.
I haven't been there for a couple of years.
They had Mopar only Drags in Bremerton that was cool!
The swap meet they put on was well attended.
I bought and sold quite a few items.
As well the OK Mopars had a big show at one time.

I don't think we're going this year but that could change, if we don't I'm sure we will the following year. I'll let you know either way, I'm sure you'd like ths show :-D

That would be great, thanks! I always take pictures of the cars for later reference.. aka car ****.. =P~..

You ever take the Duster over?

the Island show people retired and are selling {or have sold }both their cars ,too bad I really wanted to show my car there when it's done , they have offered up the mailing list of all they're members to anybody who might want to keep the club going { I think I still have a copy somewhere } it included the names addresses and phone #s of all the paid members past and present , I just don't have thew time to take it on alone and everyone I talk to say they are to busy to help , the Langley show sounds like fun maybe I'll get there this year

My name as well as my cousin's should be on that list Cannucky, as well as some others from my area. Its a shame nobody wants to get the club going again. I spoke with an old man who bought one of Dave's cars from him, I believe I have a picture of it somewhere..

Hello Mike.

When did Dave and Yvonne sell the car?.

I was shocked to see them for sale.

Did it stay on the island?.

Hopefully i'll see you before Port next year.

Todd

Hey Todd, I'm not sure when they sold their cars, I know the sold their 71 Charger numbers 383, as well as the Barracuda. They have another Barracuda but I'm not sure what happened to it. As for the red one above, yes that was taken at the Qualicum Fathers Day car show this year. That old guy sat in the car the entire show.

As for next year, I'll probably try to get the Dart out to a few shows before Port, if I can afford exhaust haha, just running open headers right now.

it sure is a shame they bailed on their cars , I only knew about the 2 after the storm dropped a tree on them I spoke to them about the red one ICBC fixed it and some minor damage the charger but there home-owners or the city I forget which would not let them rebuild the extra garages like I said it's a shame they were great people , I wish a couple of people would step up to replace them I know I would help but I'm not from here and don't know the local people well enough to make it happen on my own

Anybody else out cruising today ? sun just went down but the cars washed and the oils changed and I'm going back out to burn some gas

Yup....but not in the Dart. I had some errands to run, so I used the (t)rusty Aerostar. If tomorrow is nice, I'll probably take the Dart out for a blast...somewhere!

Winter is starting to suck a lot. I need the winter time to get my Duster going for shows but on the other hand, I want summer so badly!

I would drive my Duster except I don't have it home yet. It's still in Vancouver at my grandpa's shop. My Coronet is in Cranbrook still waiting for me to pick it up too. The Charger is in the garage but it's nowhere near driveable.

69bronzeT5, I might have already asked this, can't remember, but what engine tranny rear end combos do you have in each car? Or if the cars don't have them, what did they come with originally?

The Charger was a 318 with a 8 1/4. It now has a 383-4BBL auto. I'll be finding a 8 3/4 for it. The Duster has a 318-2BBL (making it a 4BBL) with an auto on the column. Not sure on the rearend? The Coronet was a 318 auto. Now there's nothing:-D

Last I heard my old 1970 Super Bee was in Cranbrook it is a very rare factory FM3 Panther pink 384 4 spd car, do you happen to know who owns it ?

I wish I could help you but I don't know anything about it.

All I know is my Coronet is in a junkyard up there...well not really. A friend of mine is storing it. He has a junkyard but my car is in his private collection side of the yard (fenced off). He had another '70 Coronet but he had it crushed because it was smashed up (somebody crashed it and died in the 80s).

He has some other old cars, not positive on what is there yet. I'll be listing ads for him (on this site and others) for some of the old cars he is selling. They will come in Spring when he returns to the yard (he's up North working right now).
