Tincup's 63 Dart w/5.7 Hemi

-
You need to put your camera to 3.1 mp for the pics to load on this site.

Your car is looking very nice tincup. Keep up the good work.

Here is a small jpeg from our old camera.

thanks burntorange70, I will check the camera out and have the "smarter half" adjust it.

I would like to post some pics here, but every damn time I try, this site says my pics are too big (I guess pixel size is whats it's refering to). Now if someone can tell me how to "shrink" them I will gladly post some. Check out the b body forums and go to 1962-1965 look for "late model hemi into early b bodies". Sorry about "craking the whip", I just love to see cars being worked on and also to see what people are doing to their cars. If I have over stepped, I do apologize, I just like to see cars in progress.

One more thing, this is your thread, and I dont want to over step.

There is no "over stepping" I just enjoy seeing what other people are doing, or have done in your case. Sometimes I need a little whip cracking to keep me motivated. It's all good, I enjoy your participation and enthusiam in my project, please continue.

:happy3:

Tin, that is not a pic of my car, it's something that i was trying to do and see if i had the right settings for posting some pics. Now that I know the size, I'll get some pics on here this evening.

I just read your thread on FBBO and your build is awsome.

Thanks. Been going at it for sometime now. Sorry that I did not get any pics over here, the rugrats kept me busy tonight.

I think I'd rather hit my hand with a hammer than do body work, that's what I did today and tommorrow. What have YOU been doing?

I love doing body work, something about taking something ugly and making it shine again. I have been working on the front end all weekend. I cut out the drivers side shock tower and welded in new steel ( have to make room for the Hemi, something you didn't have to worry about ) and have been cleaning and preping for undercoating. I took some pic's I'll try and post tonight.

Here is the before surgery on the shock tower,

And here is the after,

Now all I have to do is make the passengers side match.

5.& Hemi, here you go.....
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Scroll down to the Image Resizer, and download it. This thing works great, it gives you 3 choices as to how much to resize them. Small will fit on any forum, the larger sizes might.
I can batch resize a whole bunch of pics at once, only takes a few minutes to resize a 100 or so!
There are others out there, this one works well for me.
Excellent build, that thing is sick! (Sick is good, btw!)
Hope this helps,

Hey, that earth mover got a Hemi?

I figured out how to resize my camera, who would have thoght you could do such a thing, anyway, I'll get some pics taken and posted this weekend. The better half has to get up at o dark 30 all this week so I got rugrat duty.

Tin, love the metal massaging, keep the pics coming for us junkies.

Now that you learned how to re-size them bring them on. What are you waiting for. Now it is your turn to give us some ****. Tin Man give him a peace of your mind too. Lets get him rolling. lol

Hey 5.7, no Hemi, but it does have a Caterpillar 3306 6 cylinder turbocharged diesel with an 8 speed automatic up front, synchronised to another 3306 with a 4 speed auto in the rear. 450 combined HP. Hauls between 14-20 cubic yards. Top speed on hard ground loaded is about 35 MPH or a little more. Loaded weight 125,000lbs or so. 75000 empty.
To add to the thrill, most of these don't have working brakes anymore!
Lot's of fun when you have to road them....:tongue9:

Alan627b, now you see where my handle comes from!

Ok, I'm gonna get some pics this weekend, the better half has to get up at o dark 30 everyday this week, so I'm on rugrat duty untill they go to bed, then it's clean up time in the house, then some relax time, then bed time, so this is part of my relax time. I enjoy writing to you guys about our cars/builds, and the humor is funny too, Clarice!!

I bet the torque on that beast is unbelievable.

I got some good news today, Summit has finally shipped my oil pan, I should have it in a couple days. I will be able to test fit the motor, I better get busy on the other shock tower.

Time to Drink your tee and get to it so you can drop it inn. So I guess it is getting to crunch time for you. Get er Done. lol

Hey Lime, you used a Milodon oil pan on your 5.7 didn't you? What did you use for a dipstick? ( car or truck or ? ) I guess I have to relocate it to the drivers side, and punch out the plug in the block.

That is what I exactly did. I removed the plug and installed the truck dipstick. If the motor is all together with oil just put some oil and drill a hole once you do that take a screw and srew it in and take plyers and pull the plug out. Good luck.

I heard the Milodon stuff is pricey? I got a Charlies with pick up tube for under 400, if my brain is thinking right.

I purchased the Milodon from summit, I got the pan, pickup, windage tray gaskets and bolts for just under $400. I think the hemis already have a windage tray in them, if it does, I'll just return the tray.
