Ok guys!
Here is a couple of photos of a pair of 1969 Superbee fiberglass bumpers that I said I would post after I painted them.. Several hours prep time and after the black and clear were sprayed, wet sanded with 1000 grit and a Makita buffer and some 3M perfect-it compound to a high gloss. Then I applied the chrome 3-4 mist coats of the Killer Cans Chrome. It took 3 cans to get the perfect results then I recleared. DONE!! They look nice right????????

Wow, they sure do. Closest I have seen to real chromed bumpers!!! Nice job with these man. Very nice.

Looks Great !
I had bad luck with the killer chrome myself. Seems the can they sent me wasn't filled right at the factory.Just kinda spluterred a bit then was empty.I sure hope their customer service comes through that stuff's pricey.
Glad you had better luck with their products !

The cans are $39.95 plus shipping. 9ozs per can. 3 cans=2 bumpers. If you by the sprayable, it is $70 for 4ozs=almost half a bumper. $1100 per gallon. That is why i use the cans. Still cheaper than a rechrome job if your steel bumpers are salvagable. Fiberglass is a big plus for racecars.

looks killer,,,,

any one have a web site or company contact info ?? ide like to try some of that on a dash bezel,,,thanks

They turned out great! How well does it bond with plastic (door handle bases, dash bezels, trim, ect)?
I think I will order some for the bumper on the 48 later.

Remember though!! The slicker the clearcoat is, the better the chrome mica will lay and reflect producing the finish!! If you leave sand scratches or orange peel, this paint will show it! Just follow the companies proceedures and it will be nice.

I just used PPG black basecoat over sealer then clearcoated with PPG2021 c/c... On plastic pieces i would clean thoroughly then spray with bulldog adhesion promoter then base and clear.

that **** is expenve i could get re cromed bumbers for that

Where the hell are you getting rechromed bumpers for anywhere close to that price, the same mexican chrome shop that chromes flaky *** cragar wheels? The last set we had done for my dads 50 Dodge ran around $800 and that was the "buddy price".

yep I got quoted 5 bills to do one bumper on the newport. that seams like a hell of a deal for how good they look. I should order some for the dart bumpers.

CUUDAK, When you write "3 cans = 2 bumpers", is that three cans of Killer Chrome or one can each of the Killer Chrome, the Base Coat & the Clear Top Coat will be enough for a 2 bumpers?

BTW: I forgot to mention that they look really nice.

Wow, that looks great. I`ve tried mirror chrome but didn`t have that good of a result with it, yours really came out fantastic! I`ve heard that AAR Fiberglass are now offering some bumpers that are chrome painted.

Congrats.........

That's the nicest job I've seen on these type of parts........I use the stuff myself, but never did a bumper.......You did a "Killer" job......no joke.

Really great stuff! :toothy10:

Or three kits of "killer chrome", each $115? Still a very nice price for two bumpers.
