got a forsale project going

thanks! Ive got to update my pics again, since the grille is in(needs a cosmetic resto)and a temporary interior is in it for the trip the other weekend.I also got the stereo in,the steel panel in the trunk floor and i cant even remeber what else.I was extemely busy on it the friday that i left. There was a lot of last min thrashing going on,lol.

Nice to see that you're finally getting some time to work on your own car....LOL

What color is that ???? It looks great and the stance looks just right.

the color is some sort of red metallic single stage.I mixed a bunch of our scrap paint together, and thats what color it came out, lol.Im NOT a fan of red myself.Any ways,i figure single stage urethane paint makes a good primer/guide coat, until next winter? when i get some more time to work on it.Ive been enjoying driving the dart some, but i broke the radiator this week. The lower hose nipple cracked,so i had to pull the radiator out today, and gonna swap the 4 blade fan for a 5 or 7 blade mopar fan, until i can get an electric unit.

I like a lot of other folks lost my job a while back, and fell into financial dificulties,so i had to eliminate? things that werent life or death, like the internet and insurance on the dart.Well, after a few months of some serious praying and job searching,i landed a great job at a big body shop an hour from my home. The pay is better than im used to most weeks(i work on commision)and im still getting used to things there.Of course there are still slow weeks were i havent brought home much, but im thinking god that i bring home a paycheck at all.Now to the Dart,as im sure yall are wondering. Its been parked in the yard waiting for me.For the last few months i didnt even have the cash(or gas)to crank er up,until this past sunday night right before dark.I did do a very nasty one wheel wonder burn out before i parked it a few months ago, actually 2 burnouts(so it looks like posi marks, lol)One measured 350 feet, the other was much longer cause the right front brake stuck, and i didnt realise it.I havent done any work to the prro car,not even a wash job all summer.I just have had to focus all my time and money on making the house payment, and the important bills that we all have.So ill be seeing you guys around some off and on,when im not too exhausted.

not enough to start a thread about anyways.I did get a lot of phone calls from some of the cool cats im freinds with on here.

Toby....Great news in finding a job and getting things back on track. WB

Toby ! Where the heck you been at? Send me a pm, hop in the chat, Whatever.... GLAD to hear your back!, I'll catch up with ya soon.

i knew ya couldnt stay away. maybe i,d finish my car if i,d stay away. glad yer back.

Toby, negative experiences in my life have often turned up to show even better opportunities around the corner! Hold fast, stay strong...we'll be here until you finish! And you will finish! :)

Im glad to see your still tinkering with your rampage.Mine has 2 foot tall grass growing under it right now.I did get a pretty decent 86 ramcharger this past summer for free, just to get it out of the guys way.It has a rebuilt 318 in it,with like 500 miles or so.Ive not had much spare time to do anything in a while, but Jennifer got my tags and insurance for the dart yesturday.Im waiting out a rain storm right now,and im gonna go ride around some.Who knows,i might not want to come back, lol

Ive put these on my birthday/christmas list for this year.I think they will go well with the scheme of the car.Ive also decided to paint the car silver metallic, prob viper silver, with black and orange interior.Im hoping this winter to get the body straightened out and painted all over.Of course the engine will have to come out to redo the engine compartment, weld up all the unused holes in the firewall, and fender wells.Im also gonna do the rear minitubbing before paint.I have to wait for the wheels to see how much i have to flare the rear quarters out,and possibly the front fenders, kind of like an old school auto cross car was.Yall tell me what ya think of these wheels for the dart.

I just carried the dart to work yesturday, and dropped it off.Starting monday, ill be pulling it in the body shop were i work to continue with the modifications, body repairs, etc between customer cars that come in.Work has been really slow for the last month or so,i have been working on my bosses 66 datsun fairlady.I finished it just in time for a carshow yesturday,so he said i could have free reign of the shop to do what ever i wanted/needed to do to the dart.I carried him for a ride in it,and let him look all over it,so he could see how involved its gonna be.I think he actually is looking forward to seeing it transform from a thrown together beast,to a formed and fitted beauty.I plan to swap the 7.25 to an 8.75 i have first, because im getting rear wheels for christmas.I need to see what mods i have to make to the rear end,or rear wheel wells,so i figure this needs to be done pretty early.Im also gonna weld patch panels in the minimal rust of the car.then it will be weeks of body straigtening, with the hammer and dolly, and making all the panels fit perfect.I plan to paint the dart viper silver all over,to modernize the car,and give it a cleaner look.Right now im getting summit quick 8 wheels, like the weld super lites, for street/strip use.I think they will accent the silver paint nicely.I will be making and installing subframe connectors, and swapping out the buckets for factory bench front seat.

Between doing "real" work, lol.First off,i took the wheels off,and with a fellow employees help,we jacked the outer wheel openings out, about an inch an a half,to make room for wider wheels/tires.It makes a huge difference.ONce that was done,I staqrted cutting rust out.Thank god there isnt much rust in this car!Hopefully my phone takes decent pics, there will be more to come,if yall are interested.

forgot the pics, its been a long day!Oh,ive decided to paint my dart silver, all over like the first one, with the wheels like on the second one.Ive never seen such an awsome dart in my opinion.

Ive spent almost 2 days working on the right rear quarter panel.Ive been welding rust pin holes, and pretty much skimming the whole side with putty.while waiting for putty to dry,ive been taking care of minor mechanical issues, like adjusting the megashifter cable, adjusting the lokar kickdown cable, and little things like that have been issues since putting the car on the road.Last night i ordered some stuff so the 8.75 rear can be installed this week hopefully.I ordered polyurethane bushing kit from summit for the rear leaf springs,a new rubber brake hose, and rear wheel cylinders.I am robbing the brake backing plate assemblies and drums off a 65 b body rear i have.I have a set of cut and resplined c body rear axles ready to go.I also have a 3.23 gear for now,and a cone type posi i paid 50.00 for a few years ago.I know i need a center section gasket, and oil still, but i hope thats about it.

I got rear wheels for the dart from my wife Jennifer for christmas. They are the summit quick 8s,15x8,with 4.5 backspacing. She didnt know what size front wheels i wanted,so i got money from her for christmas, and a 50.oo summit gift card from my parents.I took that money, and the gift card, along with the 10 percent summit discount code in the forsale area, and got a pair if 15x4 front summit quick 8s,new lug nuts for all wheels, and a set of braided stainless brake hoses to get rid of the crappy, dry rotted rubber brake hoses on the car now.i ordered the hoses for a 73 dart with disk brakes, since im doing the big bolt swap.Ill post pics of the front wheels, and braided brake hoses soon,im too tired right now, lol, but i do have pics of the rear wheels.Hopefully i can get them all put on soon.
