True story!
I went to a local well known shop about 4 months ago to have a wheel alignment done on my 1981 Dodge 2wd pickup after i changed the outer tie rod ends and a R.H. upper ball joint.
The truck drove very well after that (to be expected) and i was happy with the job.
The other day, i was turning around and when i turned the steering all the way to the left (for the first time i guess), the steering wheel "lurched" and it felt like the L.F. tire was hitting the frame or fender, but there was no noise at all.
I thought W.T.H.?
I looked under the truck and i easily found the problem.
I slid the 3/4" snap-on combination wrench off the upper control arm cam adjuster bolt.
I can't believe it didn't fall off in 4 months!
I'm keeping the $20 wrench and i'm not going back to tell them either!
Boy, am i ever good at diagnosing front end problems now, dontcha think?
Tom.

I would return the wrench to the mechanic. He will remember and take care of you next time you need work! :happy10:

or turn it in to a snapon dealer and get a new one, i,ve found lots of tools on cars from screw driver, vice grips, sockets. had a pair of vicegrips on the rear of a fwd car that was gone for a year then when the kids came back from school they brought it back for a banging noise and there they were. lol

I second what 6pk said. Having worked as a mechanic for a spell, I had to provide my own tools. Even though he's most likely replaced it by now, he will appreciate your returning it. Just if you take it back, make sure you give it to the mechanic who worked on your truck yourself.

Good idea, maybe i'll try a snap on dealer and see what they say and then return it anyway!

I would have it engraved with the "reunion date" and then polish it up and then return it! Heck, frame it! Have some fun!
