Thanks for looking. This is my 72 demon. This is what I am starting with. I am going to completely take this car down to nothing and rebuild it. I thinking I am starting with a good car. It was a 6cyl car and now has a 318 with a 904 in it. I will periodically update this thread when I have progress made on the car big or small. I have always enjoyed looking at other resto's on this site.

its not bad but the RF door has filler and also some filler in the tail panel. I hope to get it blasted to see whats really under the paint. The floors are spotless.

Just FYI The hood is for sale with the scoops. The holes are already cut under the scoops. The previous owner could have done a better job at mounting the scoops though. Pm if you are interested.

you wouldnt by chance wanna trade for the same hood minus scoops wud ya =p just kiddin thatd be stupid. Helluva nice Demon tho, kits the heck outa my dart!

Hey do you work for Carmax? I saw your cars on their employees Carmax website a year or so ago.

Well def. not show worthy. It doesnt have much rust. I bought this car 2 years ago with the intent of restoring it. So now I have some time and thats what Im going to do. Hope you enjoy the pictures I will post.

Yep used to work for carmax but have moved on. I worked for them for three years

well.....the plus side of restoring it is.

it looks like a clean car so you should run into much rust issues and it should go smoothly!.

awesome car though!.....keeping it same color? same engine tranny combo?

Same here, last day was this last friday. Was just making sure someone didn't steal your pics and claim them as their own lol

If the car is that nice looking when you started I bet it will be absolutely stunning when you are finished!

I am thinking of going with plum crazy purple with a black vinal top. It will have a 360 with a 904. Also I have the correct hood scoop. What do you think of purple?

Thats what my 72 duster is being painted .....plum crazy purple and I have factory scoops....going satin black hood with satin black 340 stripes.....

good color on these cars!

You have a point where a color becomes so common that is is no longer interesting…… Plum crazy is getting there.

thats a hard thing to avoid though.....so many people stay true to mopar high impact colors....so you can bet that there are alot of cars with the exact same color out there somewhere in the world.....so there is a point where you have to decide rather you are building the car to be different than the rest (in which case you might aswell paint it a ford color so it dont look like someone elses car lol) or if you want to paint it the color you WANT because it is what you LIKE.

I'm in the process of restoring a 72 Demon as well. I wish I had as good a starting point as you have. Mine is more like a junkyard refugee. The Demon in my avatar is what it should look like when completed. Here's the write up of my trials and tribulations on it.

Thanks for the photos, too. I wondered what mine would look like with Magnum 500s. Now I have a much better idea. Good luck.

BTW: You may want an administrator to move this thread into the member restoration area.
