Hi Gang. After some troubleshooting and lots and lots of reading the forums I have ordered an Edelbrock calibration kit to richen my 273 a bit. When trying to find an actual manual, vids, or pics of the process of swapping the jets/rods I come up with nothing. I have the Edelbrock Carb manual and have scoured their tech center and the web but not seeing anything. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The rods are very easy as are the springs. On top of the carb is 2 metal covers that have a screw holding them down. This is where the rods and springs go. Just take the screw out and remove the cover and you should see them. (There is one cover on either side of the top of the carb. Make sure that you change both!!!)

The jets are inside the carb and you need to pull the top of the carb off to get to them.

If you are running a 273, without knowing any other details, rods and/or springs changes will most likely fix your issue. I have never really had to change the jets.

Here is a link to a diagram. The covers and screws are # 12 and 13. Jets are 33 and 34.

HTH,
Dan...

Thanks for the replies guys. I have the Calibration Kit en route and will now be prepared to install as soon as it gets here!

it's the performer 600 (1405) on the performer intake. I am pretty sure it has a mild cam (guessing the performer as well). Besides those and the 2 1/2" exhaust everything seems pretty stock. I'm guessing there's a shift kit in the 904 too.

Thanks everyone, I stepped up the rods a step richer and man what a difference! Idles much better, runs a bit cooler, and doesn't stumble out of idle.

Their Carbs come with a dvd that has everything you need to know. You are an Edlebrock expert after viewing a couple of times. The same vids on the dvd are on their website under tech vids. They are there. I'd be suprised if you didn't get dvd in tuneing kit.
Get ahold of them and tell them your dvd wasn't in your carb box when ya got it! It's a super great dvd and very informative!

WOW! The 1405 600 was pretty much plug and play with no adjust for our car but is mainly stock, mild cam, stock size exhaust but true duals with cherry bombs on it.

Something else you might want to check in the vid, they recommend using a special spacer plate under the carb that has 4 directional barrels leading to manifold. (for mopar products only all others use the 1 big square opening in the adaptor plate. The one I chose to use (Not Edlebrock) a non edle brock brand with a composit center plenum (plastic center with an aluminum frame around it. The composit also helps prevent vapor lock.

Good Luck!! You have a reaaly nice car and the best carb for the small block mopar!!!

Sorry, you already got it!! Late read...... LOVE those Carbs!!!
