We all know that Dodge is struggling to stay in business. What do you think Dodge could do to increase sales with the current line up they offer.

I would like to see "LW" Challenger made.
A. light weight
B. low options
C. V6
D. 6 speed manual
E. Make a fun upbeat car. That is good looking, quick and doesnt need a extra fuel tank.

A high volume lower cost car. Sounds like a Dart remake.

Most if not all of the parts should be available to them from the parts bin.

Sell it like the 300 hp mustang is now.

I'd quit wasting money and time coming out with a new car every year that no one wants (wonder what drove them bankrupt, besides union costs?)... To start with, I'd bring back the 1968-70 / A, B and E bodys.. Not redesigned, "THE ACTUAL CARS", with the new engine and tranny options... Ever who came up with the "4-door Charger" needs taken out into the woods and beat... Even GM and Ford isn't that stupid, DUR- lets build a 4-door mustang and camaro...

greenhornet i think your on to something with the a,b,e bodies, one versatile chassy for each of the market sized cars, 4 and 2 door options.

If they want to really get back into the throwbacks scene they need another 2700 lbs v8 car.

Even ford was stupid enough to dable in the idea of a 4 door mustang......its been said by many sources that a 4 door mustang is set to be available to the public in 2011 here are a couple different pictures of them that I found ....probably just concept crap though http://media.photobucket.com/image/4 door mustang/hardrevingboi/mustang4dcopy.jpg

ford and gm did some funky stuff with some of there cars also.....

I personally think the mustang wagon looks kind of slick http://garage.zanzaman.com/bitzas/break1.jpg

Can you say camaro 4 door wagon? http://media.photobucket.com/image/...Oddities/chevrolet_caprice_estate-resized.jpg

camaro 4 door http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=12378&stc=1&d=1231176078

what looks to be an actual new camaro with 4 doors that looks to have just came off the line and is sitting in a lot with all the other new camaros ? http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/7850/copyofimpala.jpg

there has been many flops in the market when the bossman thinks he came up with a good idea.

I wouldnt mind seeing a redesigned 2 door charger instead of what is currently for sale.

I wouldnt mind seeing a duster or demon or dart....some changes are ok but keep with the general style from the old days...not a total revamp.

I think a road runner or gtx would be pretty neat.

I seen the challenger body kit that you can get to convert it into a super bird and i think that looks really sharp...maybe they should release a limited edition super bird.

but I agreee...they need to cut the crap and stop making the cars people do not want and take the time to think about what people would want to buy from them and make it the way they want.

I think the challenger was a very good step in the right direction...now maybe thye need to just improve upon it in years to come

The general public are more interested in economy, fuel savings. With that being said, bring back the Dodge Colt,Omni anything small, sporty and economical for starters.Personally,I,d like to see a sporty AMX to compete with the Stangs and Camaro,s.They could make 4 cyl,V6 and a V8 versions(maybe turbo,s?),it would be a heck of alot lighter than the Chally.Just my 2 cents.:read2:

I think the comments about the small light efficient cars are spot on. Build the 2 & 4 door versions on the same chassis and they'd be good. I would dig a new cool 4-door, still waiting to see what the new Charger looks like.

If Ford did actually come out with this, I think it would sell well...

I like this car,If ford would have made it I probably be a ford man now.I agree with bring back the oldschool cars with new tech.greenhornet everything you said is correct.:toothy7::toothy7:I am a wagon man and always said Chrysler should hav

e never stopped making A body wagons. Mark

They should build an affordable economy car with styling and solid engineering. It has to put money in the bank.

Go back to the A-body concept---small, lightweight car, availible in 2 or 4 door with a performance package for the few that actually want a performance coupe/sedan.
I could see it now---a 4 or 6-cyl Feather Duster (alum is common build material now) manual O/D tran, peg-leg rear end with cheapie vinyl interiorfor say, oooh, 12-15k. Order a similiar car but with a 5.7/6.1 Hemi (maybe even a DrakPak???) and the price goes to 22-25kand everyone's happy! Offer it with a 5/7 Magnun & re-introduce the "Max Wedge" package----It's a BEAUTIFUL thing!

As soon as i can I'm going to buy a charger for a driver and re-badge it as a cornet that way i'd be driving around in a 2010 "cornet" Which is what they should have done anyway offer the cornet as the 4 door and the charger as the 2 door just like back in the day...

I would like to see the Dart name used on a lightweight, rwd 2- door hardtop, convertible, and sporty 2-door wagon. Clean, restrained styling with cues from the '67-'69 cars. Manual windows, mirrors and seat adjustments. 4-banger for people who want economy and a V-8. 6-speed manual. A durable and good-looking interior, full rallye-type guages and steering wheel and comforable seats. Steelie-type wheels with 'poverty' center caps. And while they're at it, REAL bumpers that prevent damage to the car in a low speed impact.

Mopar could make a come back if thay got rid of all the " Nerd designers" and hire some people who have common sence and car smarts... I'd guess 75% of us on this board know more about Mopar history then the people who work there now, even their CEO.. The Mopars most of us love weren't mass produced like GM's and Fords.. The government killed the american muscle car just to let imports take over our auto markets, it wasn't about a gas shortage, how many hondas, toyota and datsuns did y'all see on our highways before the 70's gas crunch (not many)... With all the hi-tech and fuel injection we have today Mopar could bring back the REAL MUSCLE CARS.. Fire up the 1968 road runner, charger, barracuda and dart assembly line and just give it shot, "NOTHING ELSE HAS WORKED FOR MOPAR SINCE THE K-CAR"!! (Except the trucks).. 4-door mustang?? Ford must be wanting to jump off the cliff also..

Good god. Another clue-less none informed board poster... Do some research!!!!

Hers some facts for ya.

We are in a huge recession.

We have a record amount of millionairs, more than any time in history.

This is a paradyne shift towards the same society that immigrants moved away from 200 years ago.

Unions have been blasted and reduced to almost non existance.

How many millionairs go to a ford dealership and buy a mini van?

How many union workers do the same?

How many non union workers can afford new cars?

Union workers have more disposable income than most and can afford to spend in a consumer based society.

Pull your head out of your ***.Union bashers are always the first in line when unions are hiring.

Here's some common sence reality for you that you might be able to understand... Say you need your car worked on, I'm a union garage and I have to charge $75.00 a hour for labor, the garage arcoss the street is non-union, thay only have to charge $30.00 a hour for labor..

Question A: Which garage will you take your car to?

Question B: which garage is going to go out of business first?

Yeah, that's what I thought....

So if a union job became avaible to you right this second with great pay and benefits you would turn it down?

And yes I would support the union shop.

Yes, I'd turn the job down, my reason- Because that job won't be around for long.. You know as well as I do that union costs and benifits has killed the steel and car industys, why do you think Ford had to move a big plant to brazil to stay in business??? Dude, you have no argument here, the average UAW hourly wage was around $36.00 to $42.00 a hour (and that isn't including benifits) the average china auto worker wage is $6.00 a hour with no benifits.. Do the math!!!! UNIONS busted GM and CRYSLER!!! THAT'S A FACT!!! You can chase your tail around in circles for the rest of the day and call me names or whatever.. "YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE FACTS"!!!

No offense to Union boys, but being in business, most of the items I repair are not mine, they were bought at the local Walmart that pays .23cents an hour to the workers in China to produce goods ...this is were the union boys shop but then cry when our local mill laid off 400 of there fellow workers because China was sending paper goods here - cheaper. All I said was good for you, now maybe you will support some local business with your high paying jobs and when you need support, you will not curse us store owners when we dont drop what we are doing to fix your walmart crap that you saved 10% to buy there. I think walmart is now around 80 to 90% chinese goods. As long as we support that ****, the more, north american jobs will be lost. Demand quality, and support the businesses that bring it to you or dont complain when your cheap **** breaks down.

I rest my rant now ....lol

No it's not unions,it's the maggots that outsource everything and the governemnt that allowed it.

Why do you think our economy is in trouble? There are no good paying jobs here,so everyone is in debt to the hilt. This is a fact.

Heres another fact for ya.

North Americans will have to lower thier standard of living and do without. Money people have made sure of it.

Heres another fact; The chinese worker that makes $6/hr deserves better. Unions are the great equalizer for this. Many argue that unions kill small business. Nope, its the asshole that mistreats his employees so bad they feel they need a unions protection.

The chinese worker has NO CHOICE. Do you think they would work for piddling wages in a communist society if they had a choice?

The soviet union already proved this does not work. Substandard products made by virtual slave labour might sell but the consumer gets pissed after buying the same product time in again and again because it doesnt last.

If ford came through its crisis without getting rid of its union or borrowing from the govt maybe they should be in charge,as it appears they know something you dont. Big deal, they moved one factory.

Heres another interesting fact for ya. The company I work for (Teck) is about 60 billion value. I work at one of thier last union plants which has high wage costs. Yet they chose to close a brazil plant as it was losing tons of money and our UNION plant made money...

Once the unions are gone that will be the start of enslavement. It happened in the 30's and it will happen again. Dont go asking your govt for help. They wont care. Of course you could always go in debt and sue your empoyer in court. Good luck.

I don't ask my government for crap!!! Back in the coal mining days, unions were good to protect workers and working conditions.. Since then, unions have put us on the fast track to hell and the train is pulling into the station... You have a union job, good for you!!! Your argument is about like me saying "what's wrong with the drug cartel" thay pay me good and give me all kinda good benifits...
