Right... 1.45 is not a percentage... It's a multipier.

I'm fine with that. I just figured if someone already did it and put in a 35 they could tell me if they were a little high or a little low and then I'd know which way to go with my gear selection.

Presently the speedometer is off by a factor of about 1.45, so 79.5 mph on my speedometer is 55 mph actual on my GPS.

Don't know. I won't know what's in there now until I remove it and I'd rather not remove it until I have one to replace it.

Anyone with 3.73 gears and 275/60R15 rear tires... what 727 speedometer gear did you use? Charts say Red 36 teeth but I rather hear from someone who made a change and ended up with an accurate speedo. 1972 Duster with early 70's 727. Thanks...

I know this is an old post but I was doing a search on a similar topic and just saw this. I am wondering if that 2,600 RPM at 65mph is correct. The 275/60R15 tire is 28" tall and with 3.73 gears you should be a hair under 3,000 RPM at 65 according to the on-line RPM calculators. Wondering why...

Thanks. Not worried about the strip. It's more of a show car that attracts people with something to prove on the street. I don't look for street races. One of my car show friends has a small block 1967 El Camino with Nitto 555R 275/60r-15. They don't pick up anything... even when it's 98F here...
