I agree with the silicone and metal sandwich gaskets, but the ones that came with the cast aluminum valve covers from Mopar Performance were great too. They were kinda thick black ones.

You should vent the crankcase and eliminate the possibility of any pressure. Also, most valve covers will have a baffle (or plate across the opening) where the holes are in the valve covers. Since yours are cast, there may be a place to screw a plate. A small plate made of sheet metal will suffice.

I have bought them for $50 and up to $300. It just depends. Pics will help and of course knowing the demand.

I went with DOT 5 years ago after the tireless job of sanding and painting my car. It is great, no spongy feeling, no moisture collection, won't damage paint, etc. But that does come at a slight cost. Be aware, if you take your car on a trip, take brake fluid with you. It's just one of those...
