I believe your tracks are in backwards, should be thicker to thinner front to back respectively. Here are mine when I had them apart looks like the correct tracks. And I also attached photos of them in the car for perspective. Hope this helps!

68 dodge, Do you still have the stove heater? if yes, what is the manifold it fits? looking for a stove to fit 340 manifold for a 72 Demon. hard to see in you picture. the 340 manifold has a pretty distinct side profile and top bolts are offset, not flat.
